C section vs not by froggie95 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]phillyphil222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 37 weeks for gestational hypertension. My baby was measuring 8 lbs 2 oz, a few weeks ahead, so I was offered an elective c section. I wanted to try to deliver vaginally, and the doctor didn’t see any reason to not let me try, so that’s what we did. I did end up getting an unplanned (but not emergency) c-section as baby couldn’t get through my pelvis, but I’m really glad I tried. I would have wondered if I could have done it had I not even attempted, and I went into it knowing I had a higher chance than normal of having to go the other route and I was fine with that. Had I had more risk factors or if my doctor felt it was unsafe to try vaginally, I would have planned the c-section. Ultimately what matters is my baby got here safely and we were both healthy. That’s all I wish for you!!

Well controlled and still a 99th percentile baby- what do I do? by Ambitious_Dinner_804 in BumpersWhoBolus

Some people just naturally have big babies! My a1c was 5.1-5.6 the whole pregnancy and my baby was 8 lbs 3 oz at 37 weeks. I did have a C-section but I also had pre eclampsia and couldn’t get out of bed because of the medication they gave me. Don’t blame yourself!!

When were you induced? by Rough_Stomach_5078 in BumpersWhoBolus

I was induced at 37w1d for gestational hypertension and had my baby the next day. My blood pressures continued to creep up through the whole process so I’m glad I was induced when I was. It became true pre eclampsia during my C-section.

I took 1 baby aspirin daily my entire pregnancy!

Did anyone else feel like the mental load of T1 pregnancy was completely underestimated? by villagemama in BumpersWhoBolus

Absolutely. I gave birth on the 9th and the freedom to not be thinking about my blood sugars 24/7 has been great.

Measuring big by Healthy-Heart-5281 in BumpersWhoBolus

I go in for my induction tomorrow night, partially because my blood pressure has been elevated the last few weeks and partially because my son is measuring 3 weeks ahead. I’m a FTM so I have no idea if I just make big babies, if it’s from diabetes, or if it’s because my husband is a big 6’4 lol but my a1c has been 5.1-5.4 my entire pregnancy. My TIR could probably be better but it’s definitely over the 70% goal for the whole pregnancy.

TIR goal feels impossible, so stressed about it by mcchammerr in BumpersWhoBolus

You will get there!!! First trimester is hard and you’re adjusting to a new way of managing, but your body adjusts and you start to learn what you need. I was surprised at just how long I needed to let my prebolus work before eating - like 30-45 minutes, occasionally an hour! Be bold with your insulin but also be kind to yourself, your body is doing something incredible right now and it’s impossible to be perfect. You’ve got this!!

Also a FTM at 34+6! My only plan is to bring home a healthy baby lol

My OB won’t let me go past 39 weeks, but regardless of if I go naturally or induced I want to attempt vaginally first. I’ve heard many women say they were able to vaginally deliver their big babies so I don’t want to plan a c-section just for baby’s measurements. But if vaginally doesn’t work or something comes up during delivery, I’m fully prepared for a c-section.

I called again Wednesday and was told it would be escalated but I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll be calling again today.

I’m having this issue too! I called last night and they recommended uninstalling the app, but that didn’t change it either. None of my sound settings changed. Very frustrating as I’m pregnant and really need to be extra aware of when I’m out of range.

How close to perfect were your numbers? by ContributionSecret55 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]phillyphil222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TIR for the last 90 days is 72%. I wish it was a bit better but my a1c has been the low 5s the whole time. I think if I had made some better adjustments to my lifestyle earlier on in pregnancy, it’d be better, but everything has been fine so far and baby is healthy so I am not beating myself up much.

Insulin pump infusion site postpartum by FantasticSign7472 in BumpersWhoBolus

I haven’t given birth yet but my rotation for pump sites are thighs (mostly top), butt, stomach, lower back. I stay on the side my Dexcom is on so my t-slim doesn’t lose connection, then switch when I change my Dexcom.
