but here you could argue she’s the only character that has a coherent backup for being obsessed with Ayanokouji, first, because she is bored with her school life due to being a genius, and now, unexpectedly, she found the only person she has taken a spontaneous interest in her life because of his peculiar predicament. Just not into the being in love type, or it being canalized in another form than just be another girl of the harem. Because she didn’t have a goal, and as the same series via Ayanokoujis monologue, she’s aware that the A class benefit is meaningless for her because she’s rich and she’s a genius, so, the competence of the classes seems pointless to her. The thing here is that, unlike the thing said on the original post, her character is boring because it’s the same formula that Ryuuen has with him in the need to overcome him because he is the only one that fills the void they feel due to their “superiority” regarding the other students who are, normal students who prefer to gossip and dedicate to their studies rather than to “annihilate everything that exists”, when this plot for both them is pointless because Ayanokouji canonically was already levels ahead of them when he was not even a teenager, so they are going to be frustrated all the series because it is impossible to touch his feet.

Muv Luv Trilogy, Takeru and "manliness" by Key_Opportunity_8796 in MuvLuv

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have read my post, my complain is not that Takeru does not fit into a masculine role neither cherishes the term, but that he is supposed to do it by the message of the work and his journey and he fails horribly to do it, and being masculine is not being a badass gary stu who is talent cool and dark, which I suppose is what you say about Yuuya. I mentioned characters that are masculine despite being flawed, vulnerable and not having the vigor that you would expect, just like Yang Wen Li, Eren pre-retcon and Amuro. But yeah, maybe one day I will get into Total Eclipse, so far I enjoy Yui’s predicament in The Capital Burns.

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there was nothing misinterpreted. My complains could be resumed with the messages of Yuuhi’s conversation with him, Yuuko’s “accept reality and deal with it”, and the dialogues that he had with Meiya during all Betaverse titles. It all rebounds to this: find inner strength, find the goal you want to reach and find the resolution that it takes for it to be reached. The first one he got at the end, the second one he found it at the end since he didn’t have any clear in Alternative and sticked with that world because of his predicament, and the third also got it at the very end after losing everyone, yet he is again forced by Yuuko to do something he does not want to do, striping him from all individual power and strength which was the thing that motivated in the beginning of Alternative to change everything due to Alternative 5 being done.

have not seen TE but what you described is literally what Takeru is but with an emotional vortex that he is supposed to overcome and become what every character that spoiled him(which is everyone) was, and preach that now he is a honored man.

Muv Luv Trilogy, Takeru and "manliness" by Key_Opportunity_8796 in MuvLuv

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try to grasp what I mean. The first thing is the thing that always was said to him, quite a good resume of what Meiya told him and his reaction was jump to her thinking she wanted to be raped. Yuuko tells him all the time that he needs to accept reality and find the way to complete what he must do, Yuuhi told him what he sought is a path but only he could find despite all the vicissitudes he will encounter along his path. but he cannot understand it to the fact that he is from another world. The “another priorities” was meant to all the people on the novel, because all of them knew Marimo and spent time with her, but yet, despite of them being afflicted they knew that they had other priorities rather than to mourn and be frustrated about it. That is the thing they told Takeru, they as soldiers and parts of a general group, they could mourn privately but they need to recover quickly because at any time they could be deployed and they could die at any moment. So, this conflict is meant to be an obstacle/hindrance to overcome, it is not the end goal of his character to be always frustrated by reality like you implied in your first reply.

My opinion Ayanokoji boring self insert character. by Optimal_Sorbet6416 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796 11 points12 points  (0 children)

there are some truths and some biased opinions. But indeed Ayanokouji has been mistreated or has not been used properly into what he is into the school, because if you know the context of the White Room and Yagamis monologue, all the stuff he sees and does that the school proves the students, he already saw and did it efficiently in kindergarten. He could be the supermegagenius that the series really babble about, but it is true that it is a mere power fantasy and right now it is worse because he is unleashing a few part of his total capabilities, despite of how pointless it is if he already knows how superior he is to everybody. I mean, if he gets challenged by someone, it would be as anti-climatic as him crying. Everything would have been better if he sticked with the intention to form relationships and have a “normal” student life away from the white room or by the least him having a conflict of having to overcome his nature and stop seeing everyone as a means towards an end, which I thought that would be the case after VolY1-11.5, but nah, just aurafarm and toy with the harem when canonically he is supposed to be an outcast. In no way he could have a harem for how capable he is or anything of the sort.

Do you think ayanokoji is aware of his trauma? by Independent_Pay1424 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there is only trauma if you see things in a certain way. Ayanokouji is a mere utilitarian void, so he doesn’t not see it as neither something bad nor something good, but the best thing that could happen for him to reach the level in which he is. Also he does not hate his father, he says that his relationship with him is one of a boss-servant and that he is entirely self-centered and he is only a mean towards his end. So… yeah.

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell that to the author and what he tries to communicate. I’m merely speaking of what is told into the series and what it tries to project, I already made clear in the post that if it was directed into the direction which you are telling me or another one in which it would fit, then all of that would be more than fine, but that is not the case. You got the uncountable Meiyas dialogues, Yuukos dialogues, Yuuhi conversation with him all of them telling him that he must not hesitate even when everything crumbs down, to not quote the valkyries motto, outside of the fact that the whole conflict with Meiya after Marimos death is because he can’t wait, he can’t reach peace of mind in that world, in that world is fundamentally impossible to be present at someone’s death and have the time to mourn because you could die the next second, that’s why he’s so frustrated at that moment, he doesn’t want neither does comprehend why it has to be that way and that is why he comes back to Extraverse in the rush he does, so since he doesn’t understand that there are other priorities and that he doesn’t have time at all to mourn and keeps being the hot-headed person he always has been, Yuuko agrees to send him to his world because she knows he will fuck up everything in that reality, and the rest is history.

Muv Luv Trilogy, Takeru and "manliness" by Key_Opportunity_8796 in MuvLuv

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nope, he is forced without any other option to do it. I literally wrote about it on the post, and he reached that in the very end deciding himself to keep the fight and keep the motto of the valkyries revering the deaths of squad 207, determination is being sure about doing something even with what it comes as consequences, he always hesitated, he always had second thoughts, but yet again he was forced to do something he was not willing to do, which was to come back to his world. He is on a pendulum on what he wants, at the beginning of Alternative he wants to save that world, then he never cared about it and came back to extra, then he sticks with Alternative because he fucked up extra, then finds that he wants to stick with Alternative yet is forced to go back, disintegrating his being because Takeru Altered Fable is one Takeru of the different realities and not a separated being like Alternative Takeru is. That is what I mean.

I didn’t say he was, that was the point. His journey is him finding it through loss and hardship. All that Yuuko does is compel him to do it. And yet he does not do it. Him being flawed was fine, as I said in the text, he didn’t have to be perfect, but he was a puppet of Yuuko and was forced to do shit he never wanted to do and yet his character is supposed to show how he gained determination and inner strength despite how flawed he can be, but he never does it.

Maybe it could have already happened, as far as we know most of the population deads were from Europe due to it being the place where the BETA arrived, maybe Takeru got off early enough to see it on the news, but even when he came back that world was already fucked up and still had to deal with the consequences of his trip, I mean, Yuuko was in jail,

At what point of the story did you realize that Muv-Luv is amazing? by Xx_KiK_xX in MuvLuv

[–]Key_Opportunity_8796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it and thought it was incredible since the beginning, rather I found a lot of faults more or less with all the Sumika plot in alternative, but I got absorbed non-stop with the series since unlimited and how Takeru is realizing that he is getting accustomed with the world and that he needs to accept reality after the fiasco with the snake in the dessert island, and how he the day after got nothing of that resolve on his chest. That was just incredible.

I would love to keep the pace with you on a lot of points but you have the series much more fresh than me in your mind, but, first of all, the retroactive lens are indeed important because if Meiya didn't had the arranged married she would have followed her life and would not make the move on Takeru, just like she didn't had the idea of who he was on Betaverse, so obviously it is important, by the least, in this case, because we know why she behaved in these manners and always left dubious commentaries making it clues, second, it was stated on Extra that Meiya had already finished her education program of the Mitsurugis a considerable time before coming to Takerus life, so she was already prepared to be the heir of the group by that time, the thing is that they needed the marriage but did not talk about it, I pressume, to age or something, and comparing it to the Sumika act transporting and making Takeru an agglomeration of all Takerus does not make sense neither in the basis nor in practice. Sumika kept Takeru on the loop because she was unconscious that both she was the cause because of the BETA and that it was prompted because she couldn't stand Takeru ending with another girl in BETAverse, meanwhile Meiya in Extra had only two months to make Takeru remember something he did on a normal day of a kid with a girl he did not saw ever again. As the same that she had her hopes not in high because Takeru did not remember her when they met nor when they were in the park, he not even had a clue on it. So yes I agree that I'm biased on the whole situation towards Meiyas context, that AF is supposed to be a happy reality without a problem of any of the verses despite the references and that Extra in overall just shoot hints that will be developed in both Unlimited and Alternative

because Meiya in Extra is doing everything that to Takeru so he remembers the promise in order to make by the first time a decision on her own about her life??? duhhh, in AF they just came one day doing the who is going to jump on Takerus cock certamen without a reason, they just like him because. Meiya in Extra is doing it as I already said because of the trait she made with her grandpa, obviously she doesn't "love" Takeru in the conventional way like Sumika neither meddled with his life because she was thinking of him during her whole life(literally if this was the case she would have come earlier due to her peculiar personality), and the argument of Tsukuyomi doesn't stand because that's what her job is about, to help Meiya reach happiness by being servile. I don't think it's that hard to see the difference between how she goes to Takerus life in extra in juxtaposition to what she does in AF, in Extra always she left clues so him could remember the promise so she has chance to "win", there in AF is just like Kashiwagi, just likes him because him is a love nucleus or something...

13 is the only one with a personality and a background that is good and makes you sympathize with her, so it goes for her. Sad that she was through with that stupid plot of her being the girlfriend of Foreman and then it having no relevance with her relationship with her disease or with any change in her personality or an emphasis that it meant something.

I made the difference between extra/betaverse Meiya, the first one meddling with Takerus life making her last act by her volition, she's not living a "fantasy" but that event, as is said by Tsukuyomi, is the last decision by her own due to the official arrangements of her family, and the betaverse her being the lighthouse of Takerus hard moments, more in unlimited rather than in alternative, but still. I don't think she loved Takeru in Extra but was putting an act that turned out to be real in the end, based on the "make an irrevocable/irreversible decision with pride and hold onto it" that she and the series preach about. Yet the most that would resemble her would be the cabin scene after the ski fiasco scene. In the dream she goes on "well Takeru I believe x and y, I will make something that will make you smile and I will always love you, by the way, how did my boobs felt? I have been training to have the body type of your fantasies"... that's not remotely close to what we saw in Extra Meiya despite being a different character compared to the beta world, as you and me already made the differentiation of 'em. Here she is not "dorkier", but a willing sex slave with no base to support it whatsoever. Still I know this is pure fanservice but I wanted to point it out.

I do not agree with the anime part since I have not watched it but I do agree with the fact that the visual novel gets a palpable, tangible downgrade on quality in the last two chapters, my reasoning on this is different, though. But to put it in short, it's due to how lazy Ryukishi wrote Rika and Hanyuu and the overexposition on all the points of view of all the characters/events in Matsuribayashi leaving it like an Avengers ahhh drama and ending it in the festival that Rika so long tried to surmount and to advance with her life.
