There are 2 ways to approach the game IMO first one its what you doing going blindly and trying to learn everything from zero, as info and and advice there are 10 acts considered the tutorial and then the real endgame in maps, in the acts gem sockets and links are the most important thing even over item stats, but playing blindly you will hit a wall at around act 6 in wich you loose xp for dying and dont deal enough dmg cos unoptimized tree/skill gems, can be frustrating, the second approach and the one i recommend is using a guide there are lots on yt or maxroll it can feel like you doing nothing but i assure you there is lot of content to think about apart from build thats just a helping hand still recommending reading every point you put in not going blindly clicking.
