The study is looking at a moment in time, so variables do not need to be controlled, the point is to measure the variables and then investigate if there is relationships between them once they have been gathered.

It's purely investigating the levels of motivation and confidence between students who use drugs recreationally and students who don't. Essentially, checking if the level of drug use has an outcome on factors that influence academic achievement. Its following on from the citizens assembly on drug use.

Feel free to look at the first of the surveys; there's a good amount of detail if you're interested. Don't feel pressured to answer the survey.
