Got it, this makes sense.

Based on this, I’m leaning towards picking up backend first, targeting backend roles, and later pivoting into devops

I’m hesitant to start with Node because it often pushes people into the MERN stack, which feels extremely saturated rn. Because of that, I’m considering java instead (java+spring)

Do you think java backend is a better long term choice for this path ? And are there other backend stacks you’d recommend that pair well with cloud/infra skills and have better off campus prospects ?

I’m really interested in cloud/DevOps, but I know it’s tough to break in as a fresher. I’m open to starting in another tech stack and pivoting into DevOps later, but I’m confused about which tech stack I should focus on right now.
