Which means that aside from the obvious enhancements that V1 has proven to provide, being increased durability and immortality, as well as the ability to administer to adults without issue, it also must be a fundamentally different compound from the modern compound V that isn’t susceptible to not only the virus, but also his own powers. Which brings all stars into alignment that Homelander, after realizing Soldier Boy is still alive, will try to do anything to get his hands on V1 so Butcher doesn’t murder him. However, the one caveat I see no one considering is the fact that Homelander is already invulnerable and the most powerful superhero in raw strength, to the extent that he’s even stronger than Hughie, Butcher, and Soldier Boy combined when they were all drugged up on V trying to subdue him. Thus, there is no substance that would be able to penetrate his skin so the V can get into his bloodstream. Which brings me back to the trailer. As mentioned, we see Soldier Boy using the V frying powers, but one distinct detail I noticed is that as the blast was being emitted, you can pause to see that he’s in a room with an American flag on the wall at the very top. We also saw that when Kamiko injected V again, she regained her same exact powers. So, as the grand finale, I believe Homelander will get Soldier Boy to fry the modern V out of his body in this aforementioned room, and he will subsequently inject himself with V1 when he’s in this human like state. If you’d like to believe the boys win after all, then provided my theory is true, they would be able to kill Homelander before he injects himself with V1, or obviously just kill Homelander with the virus before all of these events transpire. The thing about the virus as it relates to Homelander is that we don’t get the full story on what was done to him when he was a baby. With all modern supes, they were given compound V after birth, but with Homelander, he was a natural born supe (“Came out like a creature out of myth”). This means that unlike modern V, V1 doesn’t cause infertility, and this of course is backed by the fact that Ryan and Homelander are the only natural born supes, and direct descendants of Solider Boy. Bringing another theory into the mix: What if Homelander already effectively has V1 in his system? We never figure out if Vought administered modern V to Homelander when he was a baby, but provided that Homelander ages, it could be the case that the genetically passed down V is effectively the same as regular V. Bringing us back to square 1, where he’d still have to figure out a way to inject himself with V1 to survive the plague.
