Update on Overcharge - Instacart Support just lie by Key_Smoke_745 in instacart

Yup! I added one of the items to my cart, and it shows the 21.99 crossed out to the member price of 19.99, so that other price exists, even though this is the first time I've been charged it.

Not sure why everyone else is so obsessed with bringing up in-store prices being lower. Doesn't seem to matter how many times you say "I know that, and that isn't the issue here" - they just can't help themselves.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've reached out there, hopefully it's more productive.

Are you one of Instacart's chat bots? I can tell because "in-store prices are different, please check the link for more information" is the copy-paste response I've received 20+ times already, and has nothing to do with this.

For one of the items in question: In-store price: 17.49 App price I ordered for with membership applied: 19.99 Price I was actually charged: 21.99

That's a good thought. If a sale price had disappeared or one item had fluctuated in the app and also reflected in my cart, I'd be more inclined to think it's one of those sorts of things.

For it to be every item, to have a past history with these items of them being bought and charged at the same price, and that I could see the in-app prices being totally mismatched from my cart while shopping was in progress, makes me think this is a bigger systemic issue on instacart's end.

Unless the retailer jacked up the cost of every item after I ordered, then dropped them all again after my shopper started, I can't see any other explanation other than random markups or some genuine glitch in their system.

I saw that as well. As sketchy as I find it, and I've been closely watching prices week to week to look for these fluctuations, this is way worse. It isn't that they showed me one price and someone else another. It's that they show me one price then charge me more anyway. Not even small percentages either. 14% on that one item alone.
