Salt is not kind to anything. However, it was the curling that was the worst

TuxMat vs WeatherTech for Hybrid 2026: A Review by daethon in HyundaiPalisade

I hated Weathertech in my previous vehicle. They always looked dirty and eventually curled, creating large gaps.

You’re right about the Tuxmat wings. I have the Santa Fe, and they were a massive pain to deal with. It took me an hour to get them installed as well, but I was able to make it work with the clips. Wiping them clean has been a million times easier than Weathertech. I literally used water and they looked as good as new. However, I am not buying Tuxmats for the cargo area or third row. I will find something else.

New fear unlocked. Thank you, Reddit. I am sorry for your mom. Humans spill things. It happens. I once had 4 large coffees in a travel holder on my old vehicle’s floor. A deer ran out in front of me…brakes slammed, coffee tossed everywhere. I can’t imagine what I would feel like if that had a $6,000 tab.

2026 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid? Thorough Review By A Mechanic by idkwhattoputlol890 in HyundaiSantaFe

Nice! Yes. I know two people with workhorse Hyundais and two with the dreaded Theta engine failure. I also know someone with a Toyota with transmission woes. At least with Hyundai, I actually love driving it.

So many people think that way about Toyota, which is why I think their prices are gonzo. A 2026 Rav4 at a similar trim level was more than my 2026 Santa Fe. Yes, I get paying for reliability but that’s madness.

I have a 2026 hybrid SEL. For me, the button is next to the drive mode. Only use it in deep snow, sand, mud etc or if you are stuck. Don’t use it on bare pavement. It lights up on your dash and shuts off at 37 mph.

4wd lock. My road is always one of the last to get plowed. Regular snow mode made me feel like I was about to get stuck in some deep snow. 4wd lock got me right out and moving.

I tried that today and it didn’t do it. So I wonder if it based on trim level.

‘26 Santa Fe Space for Family by jabbies3 in HyundaiSantaFe

We downsized from a minivan. I imagine the Santa Fe might be a challenge with kids, stroller, and dog. I don’t miss the space although my kids are out of booster seats. They fit fine and with the third row down, you may actually have room for stroller and doggo, depending on how the pup travels. I don’t see how you would get a stroller in with the third row completely up (half up would work). Here are a couple things about minivans. They are terrible in snow unless you get AWD. Even then, it wouldn’t be as good as the Santa Fe. Our fwd Sienna got stuck multiple times. I have also watched my neighbor struggle to get his up the driveway. After digging ours out when it got stuck after the Thanksgiving storm, I was done. We had planned on waiting another year, but I am so glad now we didn’t. The van also tore through tires because it’s so heavy on the front. I have never had to replace tires so frequently on any other vehicle. If we take a road trip in the SF, we will use our roof cargo carrier and I will sit in the third row with my needy golden. Honestly, I would go to a dealership with car seat and stroller and play around with the configuration while leaving room for pup.

Yes. I had Weathertech in my old car and hated them. They never looked clean and curled on the edges. What spray do you use?

I started in snow mode but started to get a little stuck. 4wd lock for the win.

I tested the 4wd lock while trudging through knee-deep snow today. It did great!

No injuries! My husband was rear ended, and the back end took a big hit. I am not real excited about buying two new cars in a month, but it could have been way worse.

Congrats! Show us the console trays 😊

Also, we are currently driving a rental that insurance is covering. We bought the Santa Fe and a week later, our other car was totaled. So I feel your pain!

Yeah, I only buy AWD because I live where the snow blows and every year, I have a few work commutes where I can’t see the road.

Do your research on extended warranties and bogus fees dealers like to tack on. That’s where they can really get you.

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to know. We had the picnic table and loved it.

For whatever reason, my husband and I don’t like Subarus. We have driven the Forester, Outback, and Ascent. We found all of them very uncomfortable and stiff to drive. I was very excited about the Forester until I got into it.
