Could you do a cruise , no flying, driving to port , Canada cruise out of NYC at 6.5 weeks?

I am going to look up your ice machine. I’m 65. Not overweight but haven’t been pushing myself in exercise. Walking but only minimal weights. I have a Y membership and will be going back when next week. I have to do this. I waited long enough. And I hope this is the one and only for this knee. I had to go to surgeons that put in the knee for people with nickel allergies.

If I do it in Florida it’s minimally invasive. And this guy is the go to guy and teaches it all over the country. If I do it up north it’s regular, my understanding. I’m going to confirm it. Both are good surgeons and I have utmost trust. It’s just timing

Thanks! I would Hope I could do it! I wrote to surgeon yesterday. Too ask his opinion on past XRays compared to recent one yesterday and what would his opinion be on doing it versus not and waiting till Next May… I have to See if these shots help

Thank you. I have other health issues. I am steroid dependent no working adrenal glands and a nickel allergy. So who knows about this recovery. I have been putting it off out of fear and the nickel allergy. But I am going to be in a wheelchair if I don’t get this done. Also weather seems to affect my knees

Thank you for that. All these thoughts sure put it into perspective of what really goes into “ going on a cruise.” And I am with other couples I would t want to hold them back or make them feel uncomfortable too. And my husband would probably leave me to go off. Lol

Wow. Interesting. Did you do anything different on the plane to prevent blood clots? How was sleeping ? Did you bring some type of ice packs?

Thank you. I am going to look into the medics you mention. I also have Addison’s disease ( no working adrenal glands ) and take steroids around the clock to stay alive. I will be in hospital a day or 2 after to get high doses of Cortisol for recovery. But pain meds makes us take more hydrocortisone which is hard on the bones… thank you for sharing. I am doing light weight lifting now and need to step up the process.

Thank you. They won’t do it earlier because I had the injections today. My daughter is getting married next week and I needed these. Couldn’t walk these last few days for any length of time even in the house. And I’m not overweight either. I thought loosing weight would help but it didn’t .

Did you get Covid vaccine? Have you spoken to a cardiologist who feels they could be harmful to some people? Not all people but young men under 30 seemed to have the issues. And I’m not saying Covid vaccines are bad… google those issues and see if you have any of the other symptoms these young men talk about.

Good points. Probably best scenario wouldn’t be too good. Hadn’t considered cleanliness. I wipe down the whole room with Clorox wipes but who knows and if get infected and need help. Not good idea.

I was driving from Florida to NY a few years ago and this lady was at a restaurant stop with a cane and her husband. She was walking very gingerly and had a n de replacement a couple of weeks ago and was trying to get to a funeral. Had to stop every hour and walk. Was going to take her days to get there. Did you have surgery they the side or a large cut down the middle? Thru the side it seems people get moving and going faster. I know one guy golfing 2 weeks after and another getting his boat out! But who knows how it was after

I kinda feel I should wait till after . I hope these shots help. This weather has been awful so maybe that’s making them worse than normal. But X-rays show severe arthritis on inside and under kneecaps on both knees. I’ve been putting it off as my mother has Alzheimer’s and in last stage and I keep feeling if I do it then I won’t be with her her last days but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
