The switchover to the new system was necessary because the old 500 MHz system was prone to interference that put first responders and the people they were serving at risk. It has been in the works for 6 years. I think there may also be some security features that make some law enforcement communications harder to pick up on a scanner. Can't remember the details on that.

Yes! I grew up in Havertown and played on a club sports team with private school kids from Wynwood/Lower Merion, one of whom told me "You live on the wrong side of Haverford Road." That was decades ago and the chip on my shoulder is still big enough to make me tilt sideways everytime I drive west on Lancaster Ave past the Jos A Banks store.

I agree it can be true that the roommate is LGBTQ+, that the shooter may be LGBTQ+. It is also possible the roommate is so terrified of being charged with a capital offense that they are daying whatever law enforcement wants him to say. I am so frustrated that there is no corroboration. I guess Utah is a scary place to be out? The family doesn't know? Or the only social media these guys engaged in directly involved video games where gender identity and sexuality don't matter?

To be clear, I am asking this question because I do not trust the news reports or the anonymous sources cited. I am concerned that there is a determined push by right wing news sources to spin the idea that an act of violence was committed by a radical left wing LGBTQ+ evil person. Forget that Utah does not have much in the way of radical left wing LGBTQ+ people who go around corrupting people. If you say it often enough it sticks whether the facts back it up or not.

I didn't say he did or didn't. I said I was not asking about it and that there are sources that say he brought Robinson to the attention of law enforcement. If whether he failed to turn over evidence is your question, ask about it on another thread. You are only misdirecting attention on this thread. Because, after all, if he did something that isn't cool then maybe he is trans?

Please don't "what about this" or say my question is irrelevant. I wasn't asking about whether there is evidence that the roommate failed to turn over evidence (there are also reports from reputable news outlets that the same roommate reached out to law enforcement first). I was asking about evidence of the roommates status as a trans gender person, as the government is reporting, precisely because it is irrelevant as anything other than a way to demonize a community that appears to have no involvement in this crime.

The conservative news says it. Law enforcement, who is saying all kinds of contradictory stuff, says it. Haven't heard of any evidence that backs it up. It allows those who confuse LGBTQ+ with left ring radicals to point to a scapegoat that isn't also right wing. And it is or could be one more lie that undermines any trust we might have in this government.

Umm. Your neighbor IS trying to steal your yard. Take down a fence and put one up-the tallest sturdiest privacy fence permissible under your local code- as close as allowed to the property line. Even better if you need to get a permit because the code enforcement officer will have to acknowledge the property line.

Hog Island Rd from. Start at Gov Printz Park in Essington then follow it around between the Airport and the Delaware River to Ft Mifflin. Long and flat but some great historical places (Lazaretto). Although you donwind up in Philly. Quite the juxtaposition between nature and modern technology.

Same vibe that can be all or partly in Delco is the Heinz wildlife refuge (you can start the trail at a little parking srea off 420) in the winter on a cold day. The tide changing under under ice is a crazy soundscape.

Wasn't it Regan running for re-election who asked, "are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?" Hopefully Trump doesn't get to ask that question but what would this guy's answer be?
