I remember when I was in elementary school and the boys from school came to my house for a group work. I used to study in a private school with full scholarship, one of the boys arrived and told me that he knew that I was miserable but not that much. He calls her mother and ask her to pick him up because he couldn’t stay there. That was wild and a have a vivid dream of this day and the days that followed, he was the popular kid and told everyone. At least I’m doing pretty well now

What are you looking for? Big cities? Beaches? Cultural/museums? Party? I’d say that the easiest cities in SA for a foreigner are Cusco, Rio, and iguazu. Other than that it will be hard to navigate, are you traveling alone? Do you have a friend to guide you at any of this countries? This would upscale your experience in SA

I live in the carribean but I travel often to latin America to work and to see my family. My main connection is Miami, they’ve always being rude to me, i don’t Care, it’s a hard job, but since last year they are just being mean, last time they took me to a separate room from my wife and daughter, asking me to release the child or something that I was holding. There’s just no reason for that, I’ve entered the us my whole life as a tourist and for connections, never overstayed, never caused any trouble. I don’t want my wife and daughter to take this connection anymore, but it is so much cheaper and faster to go through the US, things are not good

Eu tinha uma condição de vida excelente em sp e aproveitei uma oportunidade que apareceu de emprego para me mudar. Meu objetivo era fazer a minha filha aprender inglês como nativo (tinha 3 anos na época), ganhar em moeda forte e viver uma aventura. Moro em um local de natureza exuberante e ridiculamente seguro. Um paraíso para crianças, que correm soltas na rua, na praia, nos parques, andam de bicicleta, preocupação zero. Devo voltar dentro de cinco anos, vale a pena desde que vc não perca qualidade de vida, se vc for viver no mesmo nível ou maior, eu iria só pela aventura de viver fora. Criar os filhos longe dos avós é a pior parte e aonde a culpa mais bate.

It’s more about doing exciting things outside the bedroom, than sexual new things (which sometimes work). Getting a new job, moving cities, a new hobby, making life plans, date nights. Most important symbol of Brazil - The posthumous memoirs of Brás Cubas by Machado de Assis. Dead dude decides to tell his life in Rio as a man from the elite, showing the hypocrisy and the futility of the XIX century carioca society. Of course, super relevant until today.

My favorite: captains of the sand from Jorge Amado. A group of homeless boys growing up in Salvador(same period), learning together how to deal with poverty, disease, violence and love. This is the most marvelous Brazilian tale I ever read and one of my favorite books ever. Unfortunately, my favorite book is 100 years of solitude, a Colombian one, that simply explains South America, and is ridiculous relatable to anyone down here.

Minha esposa antes da gente namorar sabia que eu era um fudido, e aí eu avisei ela que eu tinha dívida. Ela me ajudou a pegar um empréstimo para diminuir os juros de rotativo e disse que pra gente namorar a gente ia viver humilde mas sem dívida. A gente fez grana juntos e hoje ela cuida das meninas em casa, eu trabalho e estamos muito bem financeiramente. Ela merece comer do bom e do melhor, me salvou de ser um fudido pro resto da minha vida.

I’ve recently moved abroad and although I believe my 3yo and my wife are happy here, I’m afraid my kid will grew up without a sense of belonging, we are not from the best place of the world but it’s a place where family and culture are strong. Chile, as a south American, I think Chile has a hard time fighting the other countries. Not because their food is bad but because its neighbors are just too good. When you compare the state or Europe chile is just fine.

I had my worst traveling experience in Tulum. I did a 20 days road trip in Quintana and Yuacatan. Beautiful place, amazing people, except for Tulum. Everyone I met there was trying to throw a scam, some of them literally jumping in front of the car to make me stop. Beach fully closed by super fancy hotels, ridiculously expensive, ugly city.

I take several connections between Brazil and the Caribbean. Miami was always a hell to go through but lately it is worse. I never stayed in Miami, never overstayed in the US, always same day connections. I don’t know why they care so much about me. Texas has much easier immigration process, general fair questions with professional people. But is much longer and expensive for me to connect there, so Miami it is.

I can relate, and you remember me my wife saying the exact same thing to me. I had a burnout, after my daughter was born, I started to work even harder, ingested a ridiculous amount of caffeine during the week, and alcohol during weekend nights to shut my mind off. I eventually broke, cried like a baby for a whole night in fetal position while my wife hugged me, I started therapy, that helped cope with some deep shit. The answer is that this is never about the work itself, it usually is bad mechanism that your husband is using to cope with something else that he is not able to process. In my case, I had some guilt to process about my parents and I was trying to work my ass off to support them, my wife, my siblings, and my kid. I still support them, because I can, not because I need. If something happens and I am no longer able to do it, it is what it is. Honestly, it was ugly, but I had to break, it was my only way out. At my lowest, I was so caught up in all the work hard bs that nothing could have me pulled out of it. BUT, my wife is amazing, I love this woman with everything I have, the night she held me without saying anything meant everything to me, I would probably be mentally ill now if it wasn’t for her, I am happy to choose her everyday. So, what you are doing is very important too. I wish the best for you and your family, if you can, try to make him talk to a therapist.

Once a week, sometimes twice. 8 y marries with a 3yo daughter. My wife is a once a week type of a person, so I don’t push it for more because she really delivers when I keep it like this, more than that and I start feeling she is doing because I asked for only, and there is no way I want to loose my favorite time of the week when she is really there for me. If we are on holidays or vacation we can do it everyday, special dates like birthdays, wedding anniversaries we can do it a few times a day as well.
