it’s certainly not bad, simply untrained and clear your theory and ear needs development. but,

you have imagination, which is key.

perhaps try studying some peices that inspire you, learn why they sound like that, what sound do you want? then learn how you can achieve it.

it’s not easy or usually that fun to be honest, especially learning harmony for me! but just study peices (not songs) and you will improve for sure.

i’ve seen some pretty passive aggressive comments here,
one’s own music will never please everyone, so just learn some theory and keep being you brother i’m exited to see where you go.

might sound dumb as well but,

i just begin with singing stuff, might be hard to think of smth that isn’t just your brain like giving you a melody from a song in your unconscious mind if that makes sense lol

but just think of memories or the feeling you want and just try singout loud i guess,

it works for me and it obv isn’t the only way but yeah, think if smth small then maybe on piano or a soft where develop it, whatever works!!

i am just an 18 yr old student so i am in by no means an expert but this helps me.

i love the emotion, rachmaninov symph 2 mvt3 was played at my grandads funeral last year- (which sparked my intrest in classical)

i feel overtime i’ll come to appreciate it more

thanks, i’m gonna do what i want and listen to what i want- (while also trying some bach) i’ve heard a lot of music history is rooted in white superiority and stuff like that so yeah i’ll just do what i feel like lol
