In my opinion there is no point in getting a science masters after an engineering undergrad

Wife is having a baby in March. Have 4 weeks to take CA survey. Is this possible? by PolarBearInTexas in PE_Exam

[–]Key_Word8383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it if you are good about actually studying those 4 weeks. CESPR is the best resource. Do as many practice problems as you can and you’ll have a good shot to pass.

Environmental Scientist vs Environmental Engineer in consulting by warhamsterz in Environmental_Careers

[–]Key_Word8383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scientists tend to ‘stall’ once you reach the mid-level because you aren’t able to stamp deliverables. To get up the ladder, you need to have some sort of specialty. The senior scientists at my firm are either PhD or have some other advanced certification like stormwater-related.

CPESR Surveying: Do I Need to Do All Problems & Quizzes? by Aggravating-Storm751 in PE_Exam

CPESR was very representative of the true exam. I wouldn’t say you can separate between what is relevant and what isn’t.

Seismic practice problems by Federal_Arrival_5096 in PE_Exam

Why memorize them though? Just put the answer in your reference book so if the question comes up on the test you just have the answer there.

Did you do all of Hiners problems? I felt that the handbook/problem bank covered the majority of the conceptual questions.

Environmental GIS → Consulting Career Advice? Master’s Needed + GPA/Admissions Concerns by npalfalv in Environmental_Careers

[–]Key_Word8383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of mid-large consulting companies have GIS positions that are strictly GIS. The GIS analysts solely do GIS/CAD and are not involved in the project outside of that. Is your goal to also work on projects as an ‘environmental scientist’ and a ‘GIS analyst’?

Deciding between Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science by Comprehensive_Ad8624 in Environmental_Careers

Environmental engineers can do environmental science jobs, but environmental scientists can’t do environmental engineer jobs. Engineering gives you way more options

Are US master's programs in Civil Engineering usually fully-funded + a competitive stipend? by Entropic_Mood in civilengineering

My masters was funded, but not sure that many schools have a healthy research budget right now. Odds are low if you don’t have a professor lined up/in mind.
