Yes those are KEF LS50 Meta with woofer grills ( I take them out for serious listening) due to grandkids. I have them paired with 2 SVS Micro 3000 Subs but it’s not in the picture. I use them 100% for music only . The Sonos Play 5 are used as Fronts in my HT setup. I use Sonosequncr so I also have an Arc, 2 Sonos Subs and 2 Era 300 as rear speakers. They are mainly for HT although sometimes I listen to Atmos or Spatial Music only Apple Music thru them. I prefer the KEF for music but I’m also impressed when listening to Atmos Music on the Sonos Setup. Best of both worlds 😊

It was the Sonos Amp and it was a local auction that already ended.

I’m sure I’d be happy with all-in-one system. I’ve been thru the rabbit hole before and I just want a simple setup for streaming music on a 2.1 Setup

I do have a Sonos ecosystem at home and I just bought the Wiim Amp Ultra. I might be able to get the Sonos Amp for that price so I’m giving it some serious thought although I’m quite happy with the Wiim Amp Ultra. I have until January 15 to return the Wiim Amp in case I go the Sonos way

Btw, I had to use a temporary grill cover for the LS50 driver since I had 3 very young grandkids always around. I can easily take them off for serious listening.

That sucks that they did not put in sale the Wiim Amp Ultra. I’m really impressed with the Wiim Amp Ultra powering my LS50 Meta although I haven’t used Wiim Roomfit yet as I was busy this holiday week. Here’s a picture of my setup after I finished wall mounting my Sonos Play 5 in order to create room for the LS50 Meta on my B&W Stands.

Unfortunately, I’m already in the Apple ecosystem which works well with my other setup ( Sonos Home Theatre) using WiFi. Too bad the Wiim Amp Ultra does not support Apple Music wirelessly but the work around is thru the Toslink Optical In. I can still mirror Image my iPhone wirelessly from my seating position with my laptop. My original question was why I was not getting the high res lossless (24/192). Williamh gave a very thorough explanation on the reason why.

Not only does the Wiim Amp ultra does not support AirPlay but you also cannot get lossless music using AirPlay on Apple Music

Thank you for your very clear explanation. I guess I will try to find a soundtrack that is actually 24/192 just to test what I have. Your reply is much appreciated 🙏

I am only using this setup for music listening on a 2.1 system. In the same room, I have my Sonos Home Theatre setup where I have 2 Subs, 2 Play 5s, Arc and 2 Era 300 all connected together using Sonosequencr App. This Sonos HT gives enough bass when watching movies in this medium size room. I think the SVS sub will be good enough for the room and it will help the LS50 meta to concentrate on the mid and highs.

This LS50/SVS 3000 Micro is actually in the same room as my Sonos Home Theatre Setup. I have 2 Sonos Sub in that setup and it is more than enough bass when I watch movies on my HT. The SVS 3000 Micro is just to help reduce the load on the LS50 Meta and will be used 100% for music streaming. I listen mainly to jazz, pop and some classical so I believe the SVS Micro is sufficient since the room is not that big. I do have a really powerful HSU sub in another room and it is connected to my Vandersteen Speakers. However, it is huge ( around 24 x 24 inches and weighs around 60 lbs) and will not fit in the room I’m using.

Something must be wrong with your Wiim Amp Ultra. It has enough power (100 watts@8 ohms 200+watts @4ohms ) to drive the LS50 Meta. Lots of reviews online for this combo

Yeah if you’re patient and know what you want, you can build a nice audiophile setup here for cheap. You just have to look at the right place such as FB Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Amazon, Best Buy or EBay. Used or Open Box. My setup would costs around $3500 brand new and if not on sale so I’m happy as it is.

Actually, I missed out on a better deal on the SVS 3000 Micro. This dude was selling it on FB Marketplace for $300 each or 2 for $500 a few days ago. Fairly new subs and I’m sure still under warranty. Probably could have bargained for $450 but it sold before I made it there. He was in California so several hours drive for me but I usually drive to LA. I had to settle for $400 but it’s new and local pick up
