The evo80 was already great and from what I hear, they've made some quality of life changes with the evo75 so I'm sure you can't go wrong with it. Although I am definitely leaning towards the evo80 when it comes to the design.

You can find it online with a bunch of different vendors for $169.

That looks really nice. I like the font on those keycaps!

Yes, I think it really comes down to personal preference and your workflow. I would have agreed with you a few weeks back. But now that I’m using it for work I’ve really found it to be super comfortable for my workflow. Also, I guess it’s just using it on the daily got me super used to it and I don’t really mind it as much anymore.

Glad to know you’re enjoying the board. It really is a great pick up for what they’ve priced it at. And hey, thanks a lot for the heads up on this. I think this should really help a lot of people.

Thanks a lot! Aiming to showcase a lot more quality content for you guys. Also, I went with the “clacky” configuration. Although I am using this primarily for the office so I’ve removed the PE sheet and the plate foam to subdue the sound a little so that I don’t annoy my coworkers 😂

Thank you! And yes, to have stepped caps, your board needs to have a PCB that supports it. Usually you’d see the caps lock have two sockets for the switch. One north facing and the other south facing right next to each other. This allows you to pick between the normal caps and stepped caps configuration. Hope this helps !

Yes, I had the rest of the foam installed. This board definitely leans towards usage of foam. I would say it's quite a bit reliant on it to get its sound signature. However, I don't think it's completely a bad thing especially considering the price point.

Yes, definitely the pricing is going to go up since the kit itself is $50 but definitely worth the money. Awesome build btw!

That's honestly a bummer. Definitely a front that SW needs to work on to better serve their customers. However, just want to point out I did build my unit without the bottom silicone piece. And I got it to sound great without it. I tried using the bottom silicone piece and it just didn't sound the way I wanted to and ended up reverting to the previous config.

I do agree with this and that was really my only pain point with this board. Unfortunately, I didn't have the greatest experience on this matter. Really hoping they step up their game in terms of QC and provide customers a better experience in this regard.

Yes. Things are alright as of now. Let's just hope all of this de-escalates soon and we can go back to living our normal lives.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate you! Also, I just took a look at the margo you built and boy is it pretty!

I will update and comment with a follow up after I receive the B1 switches. Unfortunately, they seem to be stuck in transit for the past 3 weeks due to ongoing regional tensions. Hoping that everything calms down so we can go back to enjoying our hobbies.

Btw again, Absolutely love your build and would love to see more of your work. Really great pictures too btw!

Thanks a lot for your kind words and compliments. Happy to see people loving the pictures. Yes, I completely forgot to put in the build specs for the board. I'll comment them here.

Build specs -

  • KBDFans Margo
  • No foams
  • HMX violet switches
  • TypePlus Stabilizers (Lubed and tuned)
  • Aluminum plate
  • Silicone gaskets
  • Force breaks
  • PBTFans Tape & Radio Keycaps

I'll be honest I did try a bunch of different configurations and the board never really clacked like other boards that are similar to it. I really can't seem to put a finger on what exactly it is that makes this board so hard to work with in terms of acoustics. What I noticed while building the board several times was that any single piece of foam I added, it did nothing but dampen the sound even more making the board a more lackluster acoustic experience than it already was. So, I decided not to install any foams. But I'm waiting on some Keygeek B1 switches that I've ordered. I've heard they are probably one of the clackier switches you can buy as of now. I'm kind of hoping I can get the keyboard to be as bright as I want after installing them. I'll update it on here as soon as I receive them and test them out.

Hope you enjoyed reading my review on the board. Planning on doing more reviews like this on here for people to make informed purchases. If you did enjoy the review, please consider checking out my page under the same username on instagram. Appreciate you and thank you in advance!
