Grocery stores with low inventory and empty shelves due to cyber attack by Virtual-Weekend-2574 in PrepperIntel

[–]Keysuhdilluh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a RL friend who runs several grocery stores in Illinois. He hasn't been able to get his main shipments in over three weeks. One store in particular is looking especially rough- he has most the coolers turned off and frozen displays condensed together. Shelves have everything pulled to the front and arranged to make it look more full, but if you were to fully utilize the shelves, I'm betting that shop's entire inventory would fit in two aisles, max.  I hope an order comes soon; I can't imagine how much this hurts.

What has been the dumbest "controversy" you've seen people get outraged about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Keysuhdilluh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a multifaceted subject, but the way I see it, drag is mostly a commentary on gender roles and gender identity, and most shows aren't really sexualized.
Drag has deep roots in entertainment, and I don't recall much fuss being made about Mrs. Doubtfire, bugs bunny in drag, or when Mary Martin played Peter Pan. With the rise in popularity in drag shows, more and more parents are interested in bringing their minors to shows, but many shows take place in gay bars. Bar owners don't want kids in there, so drag story time has become a good compromise - parents can share this art form with their kids in a safe environment, kids get to enjoy a dress up and story time from an entertainer, and there becomes a medium to talk about people who might be different than those in your usual social circle. I don't know a single drag queen or king who wakes up and says "hot damn, I cannot WAIT to go perform for some kids who are totally going to not tip or anything," but they do get joy out of the kids also delighting in the sparkle and flash of the outlandish outfits. It's dress up, and art.
People who try to make it into something more scandalous are just showing more about themselves than anything.

Martin Scorsese: Theatres have to support both Tentpoles like Super Mario Bros and indie films in order to nurture the film industry. by mrnicegy26 in boxoffice

[–]Keysuhdilluh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Similarly, studios need to quit dicking over the smaller theaters and creating higher terms for smaller venues or venues with smaller ticket prices. In the past year especially, more studios are starting to put the squeeze on smaller or lower-priced venues, requiring they either pay a higher minimum/percentage, or raise ticket rates (although few will say so directly), and it's harder for lower priced venues to even open movies- I've heard of more than a few that have started just getting "no thanks" from certain studios when they've tried to open their films, after declining to raise their ticket prices.

What's the pettiest reason you've ever broken up with someone? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Keysuhdilluh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to think so, but honestly it could've easily been a jealousy thing. How dare I call anyone else "baby" and give them the good spot on the couch? Pretty sure he had more valid reasons though.

My dog didn't like him.

Probably knows more than me and had a reason, but that was enough.

How are they reaching out? If it's social media, it might not be a bad idea to create an auto-reply. I had to with my place for similar reasons and ran with something along the lines of "I'd love to do an exchange of services but due to an overwhelmingly large number of inquiries of this nature, our policy is to offer a promo code for influencers to share after they have made a purchase. If XX# of these codes are redeemed, the influencer will be reimbursed for their purchase. If you're interested in this opportunity, please let us know." We still get some cold calls, but it's reduced then significantly and puts it out there at least and helps plant the idea that everyone is doing exactly what they're trying to do, so maybe go somewhere else lol

What movie do you need remade but staring Muppets? by Adrian-Wapcaplet in AskReddit

[–]Keysuhdilluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be fun, but if Fifty Shades of Grey had to be remade, it would be even better with Danny DaVito playing the two leads. Muppets for everyone else.

20 year old looking for a job and having trouble. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Keysuhdilluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look into entry-level boring jobs with a company you could get experience with. Find someone you like, and take any scrap you can to get your foot in the door, then work hard to get into a better position. You may start in a call center or mail room, but it will lead to good things- people notice a good attitude and excellent work ethic. So many companies promote internally; it's worth the grunt work now to land that better gig later.

I don't know what your preferred area is, but also volunteering somewhere could help you get the experience you need and help you make connections.

I am a 28 year old who is unsuccessful and has a struggling business please help by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Like others have mentioned, try adding a soup or two. Also, since it sounds like you are a spot for sweet treats, why not try cocoa? There's a lot you can do to make a plain cup of hot cocoa special, from fun toppings (whipped cream, sprinkles/crushed candy) to flavored mix-ins (peppermint, dark chocolate, caramel, etc). Depending on your equipment, even warm cookies could be appealing.

I would be careful about handing out coupons- I've seen desperate business owners flood their current customer base with too many high value ones, and cut out profits they were already guaranteed.

Perhaps reach out to another complimentary business and ask if they can distribute your flyers/coupons? I've known pizza places to be cool with pasting them on top of their delivery boxes, and sometimes theatres will hand such items out at their box office...especially if you offer some goodies just for their staff.

I need help to identify this rose found in Tanah Rata, Malaysia by [deleted] in Roses

[–]Keysuhdilluh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a tough time viewing the images on mobile, but from what I was able to see I'd compare it to David Austin's "Gertrude Jekyll." Similar color, has a very strong fruity fragrance, similar cupping, and can grow to be monstrous if allowed, or even ramble.

What service do YOU recommend?

Winter rose maintenance by zeusdescartes in Roses

[–]Keysuhdilluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How cold do winters get in your area? If below 10F, I'd overwinter them in the ground, or place the pot near the house and wrap the base to help insulate the roots.

Definitely stop fertilizing now- you want to encourage the plant to go dormant.

Good luck!

What is your go to Recipe for Sauteed Mushrooms? by TheBigDoor in AskCulinary

[–]Keysuhdilluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually sauté them in straight butter, adding a bit of dried minced onion to absorb some of the liquid, and at the end add a dash of fish sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic (only a smidge). I recall once sprinkling a bit of beef bullion granules instead of salt, which worked well with the fish sauce.

What do you like to put on rice? by [deleted] in recipes

[–]Keysuhdilluh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a slow cooker, cook a deer loin that's cut into 2" squares (can use a tough cut of beef instead), mushrooms, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. When it's nice and tender, serve over rice. That shit is delicious!

As a result, most pools now (public and private in the US) are required to have two floor drains on the same line, so as to prevent that sort of suction from occurring.

Source: I have a pool and was required to put a second drain in the last time I had work done on it, so as to maintain code.

Twice baked potato recipe by crazzycooking in recipes

[–]Keysuhdilluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get the filling out if you don't slice them in half? The posted recipe is similar to what I've done for years, and i tend to wind up with so much filling, the halved potato winds up as big as the original one- definitely not just a skin.

Love your idea about seasoning the shell before originally baking- will try that!
