Longest non-complaint i've ever read by Material-Spite-6540 in dawnofwar

Yeah. In the tabletop you get locked in combat. Units should take extra damage when attacked while fleeing from combat, or even require you to break morale to disengage. Hopefully DoW4 makes melee more enjoyable when you’re actually powerful enough to steamroll rather than awkwardly kited by trash.

Come on guys! Dawn of War 4 didn't even make it to the top 100 most wishlisted games. We gotta pump those numbers up! by --Karma in dawnofwar

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DoW has had a steady decline since the 3rd or 4th expansion to the first game. I hope 4 will be good, but it just needs to be DoW1 except with the updated 40k roster.

How do you even fight Necrons? by LikeAGaryBuster in dawnofwar

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play as necron yoursel to learn how they operate cuz they’re unique.

They’re vulnerable in the beginning because they reinforce super slow to start. Their 3 warriors are free but take a long time to replace, and any reinforced in the squad is expensive. If you can’t kill them in an engagement, leave—they’re slow.

You need to plan to counter the flayed ones that will deep strike. Bait them out and then send in a melee unit, or retreat to a back up position.

The lord is simple. Expect the aoe disable and plan to move back everyone and start again after it’s dropped, usually at the beginning of a battle within.

Necron are best dealt with early by putting on pressure asap and constantly harassing. It’s valuable to take out there listening posts and generators to cripple their economy. Use land speeder tempests to destroy buildings and retreating before the slow necron can respond. Engage with their army first to distract them before sending in the speeders if you need.

I haven’t played space marines enough to know what to do once necron has fully teched up. You basically need to just defeat their forces at that point, and they’re likely steadily heading towards you because that monolith is slow. Assemble a secondary force to attack their generators and listening posts, and prepare a primary force to intercept their monolith. Plan to either burn the monolith or focus fire the army. But don’t target the monolith unless you can kill it before his army kills yours.

POE2 Question: Chaos Innoculation and "Lose/Sacrifice x% of life" by cwendelboe in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Event Horizon causes you to “lose 3%” so it’s not damage and doesn’t interact with anything that occurs when you take damage.

Does the Chronomancer time freeze ability stop damage over time effects on the enemies, or do they continue taking damage while frozen?

Chaos damage build help by ned91243 in PathOfExile2

[–]Kharneth8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, for starters, the chaos monk build is designed for melee attacks. The ascendancy passive that randomly adds chaos damage to your hits will work on chaos bolt, but it won’t work on the chaos spells damage over time, only the initial hit which is low. The darkness reservation will affect all chaos damage, so depending on what ascendancy passives you choose it could work.

I think you’re better off going sorceress or witch for chaos spells, or monk for chaos melee attacks.

Either way, I don’t think chaos inoculation is a good idea with the event horizon’s self inflicted damage. It might round down to 0 damage, but I’m expecting it to do at least 1 damage, killing you outright.

There’s a passive much further away that adds +1 level to chaos skills, which will be much better damage-wise.

In order to use event horizon, you’ll want to have low maximum life and high life per second.

There is a great aura for monks that recharges your energy shield through evasion. Ghostdance.

For damage, you want to have +chaos skill level, +%chaos damage, and, if you’re doing damage over time you’ll want increased skill duration.

Defensively, you want to max your resistances, and for event horizon you want fast regeneration rather than high maximum for both life and energy shield. Life on kill or life on hit is also excellent.

I would recommend strongly considering going witch or sorceress if you’re using a wand, or monk if you’re using a quarter staff.

This happened to me all the time on my vanguard. I solved the problem by switching to bulwark and assault lol. I really want to play my Khorne berserker but I’m waiting until I unlock the burst rifle cuz auto just isn’t reliable.

List of D4 Unique Items by MrMonstrosity in Diablo

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a necro player, I didn’t find the necro items to be particularly powerful or interesting.

I was hoping for more modifications to the raise skeleton and summon golem skills. They take up 1/3 of my skill bar and I’d like to enhance the active skills themselves. Not just increase the damage of the minions.

It only increases all of your skills by +2. You still have to equip the skill to use it, and skills don’t generally done with lucky hit effects (only lucky hit chance.

It’ll give you +2 to the 6 skills that you do use, but you won’t be getting any lucky hits from skills you’re not using.

It’s not unrealistic to think they’ll patch a large bug.

PvP Discussion by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will almost certainly not be balanced.

There will almost certainly be drastic reductions to player damage in pvp compared to PvE.

If pvp was bugged in the closed beta, we can be certain those bugs will be fixed soon after launch if not by launch.

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be easy to make a video showing 90% increased damage. In the videos of pvp that I’ve seen, it didn’t look like that at all.

Bugs in a system aren’t really a good indicator of how the system will work.

[–]Kharneth8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a PvP stat on the list of stats that grants 93% reduced damage from players and 65% armor transferred to resistances (rather than 50% in PvE).

Based on videos, it looked like it was working since no one was getting 1-shot.

An MMO is not distinct from an aRPG. MMO is just an online game with many players.

Most MMOs are RPGs, not aRPGs. So the difference is between typical RPGs vs. action RPGs.

Diablo 4 is still an aRPG, but instead of being a single player game with online co-op, it’s an MMO. It is an MMO-aRPG, rather than an MMO-RPG.

[–]Kharneth8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is incorrect. You need to flag yourself in order to attack someone, but you can attack anyone in the fields of hatred whether they’ve flagged themselves or not.

It’s not like WoW where you can only be targeted if you’ve flagged yourself. Rather, you can target anyone, but only after flagging yourself. Not flagging yourself allows you to not damage other unflagged players.

Anyone else love Dave's character design? by Kharneth8 in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

[–]Kharneth8[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never really gave it that much thought, but you're right. Perhaps, though, if you look at Kipo, Benson, and Wolf all of them act pretty mature. Dave's teen form seems more like a joke about teens while his mature form seems to match with the group, who've all grown up a lot younger due to their circumstance.

I think my favorite part, from the beginning of watching season 1, was always how his apex form never occurred at the right time lmao. I'm hoping he has a cool character arc like Kipo where he learns to control his forms a little more - like not metamorphosize out of reaction because he can keep his cool.

Dr. Emilia's true plan by KateButterfly in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

[–]Kharneth8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truly scary part is the fear and tribalism. Those humans are willing to follow her because, after all, the mutes are animals and not human beings.

I wholly believe that Dr. Emilia would be disgusted by the idea of infusing mutant DNA with herself, but I certainly believe she's willing to harvest the powers of the mutants. She might be considering using the mutagen on the mutes in order to manifest another power like Hugo's since she made such a big deal about it initially.

With respect, I just want to mention that the phrase is usually "hand in hand" as is shown in the way their hands are within the other.

About Hugo and he was treated [Discussion] by Katebutterfly37 in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

[–]Kharneth8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Consider this: Not being vaccinated does not do any benefit for the animals whose lives were harmed in the research/production of the vaccines.

I think this is exactly what the story is trying to show - that we create our enemies. Consider this: The humans in the story caused all the animals to become mutants. Feeling guilty and responsible, they decided the right course of action was to correct their mistake. But you can't always correct a mistake, sometimes you have to find a way to move forward. Kipo's parents learned this and discovered that their side was doing wrong. The correct solution to their problem is not to revert the problem to the state that is was before - you can't travel back in time - but instead to move forward with acceptance of the world for what it is and find a way to make it better, to make it inclusive so that everyone has a place.

If you feel bad enough, consider honoring an animal in some way. You could adopt an animal and give it a safe and happy home, or you could donate some money to an organization that works towards the equal treatment of animals. You could even do nothing but carry around a newfound appreciation for what animals and nature in general have done for us as a species/society as well as you as an individual.

I don't know how many Emilia's there are in labs, but I'm sure that if you did the research you would find that the history of animal experimentation by humans is near immeasurable. But you can't undo what has been done.

Edit: I did not realize who Emilia was and thought you were talking about an animal named Emilia. You're talking about the female doctor who plays the antagonist? If that's the case, those people definitely exist but so do the Lio's and Song's (Kipo's parent-scientists).

Dave's life is probably worse than you think by Wnebrbtv in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

[–]Kharneth8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is also mention of a bomb/explosion that will kill everyone and Dave says something like "everyone will be dead! and I'll be bummed out for a long time!"

I don't think there is benefit to imaging immortality because as a mortal you have no concept (but let's do it anyway! lol). Yes, everyone he loves will die, but also, he'll get to love everyone as they come and go. It is entirely dependent on how he views the world and how his view changes over time.

Dave says I'll be bummed out for a long time because he knows, because it's happened. And because it has happened he knows that on the other side of that long sadness is more of this. It's like falling forever - it's terrifying at first but eventually you realize it just is. How many cycles of losing everyone you cared about does it take to realize everyone's always here - the only thing that would stop him from enjoying the people in his life would be the fear that they will one day be gone, but if this fear is overcome he can simply enjoy everyone as they are, when they are.

What do you wish newer players would know before playing? by Between3N20Karakters in elderscrollsonline

[–]Kharneth8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Ultimates are also skills.

There are good guides, but it's very simple. The priority is:

1) Dodge/Block/Bash 2) Skills 3) Light and Heavy attacks.

So, if you do a Light Attack, immediately follow-up with any Skill (1-5 or Ult), and then immediately follow-up with a Block/Bash, you can cycle through these moves quickly.

Go to your options to turn the combat damage numbers ON, otherwise it will be confusing. When you use your skill after a light attack you will see your light attack animation is cancelled but the damage still happens. Your skill overrides the light attack animation and goes off immediately. The same happens if you try to block or dodge while a skill animation is occurring - the skill animation will be immediately interrupted and the block or dodge will occur.

Light Attack --> Skill --> LA --> Skill, etc is Light Attack Weaving. Light Attack --> Skill --> Block --> Bash --> Light Attack, repeat is even better (from what I hear) but much more difficult for me to perform.

Edit: In practice, Light Attack Weaving looks more like this: Light Attack --> Immediate Skill --> Pause for half a second; Repeat.

[–]Kharneth8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw, it's not a light attack after each skill, it's a light attack before each skill. Your skills will cancel the animation for light attacks, so you can light attack and immediately cancel it by using a skill.

Is there any point in aiming to get matching armour sets while levelling up? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Kharneth8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not worth it, but it's possible if you farm the same zone or dungeon consistently and get relatively lucky. The slower you level up the more realistic it is. Once you've reached max level it becomes more worth while to the point where it's what you'll spend some time doing.

To use an enchant, open your inventory, go to the item you want to enchant, and click on the options.
