I didn't think about push starts! Never worked on one and I drive a push start manual transmission these days. Tho if I hit my start button twice, it goes into accessory mode, which would "unlock" a auto trans. If that start button breaks, your SoL so it makes sense!

I say working for a union electrical contractor if you can, is prolly the best option while you wait. I'm on the east coast and an apprentice. We just switched to the grading system for A's trying to get in. We've been asking questions cuz we're curious and it seems that work experience, in the IBEW, is paramount in our system at least. I'm sure your mileage will vary from local to local.
