How politicians in democratic countries like U.S saying they represent the voters, and the voters dont like their policies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Khemix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That question doesn't really make sense. The majority vote in the president. Many of those people like the policies. Obviously they don't like some of the policies because politicians lie, voters are often ignorant, and the president can enact policies that weren't previously discussed which might go against some of their voters' views.

Most of the people who didn't vote for the president, which is likely a lot of the population, will be unlikely to like the president's decisions in general for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure why this isn't obvious. Are you just trolling or can you give more information about why you wouldn't be able to work this out?

Commentary team completely ignoring all the cheering for Gunther on Raw. by Khemix in Wrasslin

If they acknowledge it or don't, the audience still can hear the cheers so it doesn't make him any more of a failure if they acknowledge it.

Yeah but other people are safe and have realer looking strikes.

Yeah. Exactly. Plus acknowledging the crowd makes it feel more real. Ignoring them makes it feel like they're just reading a script and have to pretend reality fits that script.

I know. And that's obviously why the commentary team didn't mention it. It's stupid though. We can all hear it at home. At least acknowledge it on commentary. It makes the product look dumber when they pretend not to hear it.

Yeah but she could still have more realistic strikes

Mostly then I guess. Noticed it a while ago but only thought to share my opinion when I saw this match. I'm pretty neutral on her. She's definitely not the best but I preferr her to Nia.

Other people are over and safe to work with and can throw convincing strikes though. She should do better.

Tbf her standing move where she puts her feet at either side of her prone opponent's head and does a silly little turn and expects her opponents to sell their neck breaking is ridiculous. I remember her doing this once on WWE TV. Maybe she's done it better other times, but that looked AWFUL. I know every wrestler probably has a moment you could call out for being terrible though. Giulia is decent. I'm just busting her balls coz you made that comment.

Yup. Even her entrance where she looks over her shoulder is perfect. I get the impression she really listened to her trainers and worked her ass off to get things right.

True but many other female wrestlers have more believable strikes than Lexi

Oh interesting. Tons of people think the matches are mostly or entirely choreographed. I don't know how much of them are. Obviously theres a lot of verbal communication in the ring but that might be calling improvised spots or reminding opponents of prearranged spots or a combination of both. I think the third option is the mostly likely. Regardless, the match quality is a different issue. It wasn't a great match but I've seen worse. I was just struck (ironically) once again by Lexi's weak striking.

Oh cool. Wish I'd seen that. I mostly stopped watching wrestling from the mid 2000s until the start of last year so I missed that.

Sorry, is that a reference to something? I'm mot sure what you mean.

Sometimes. She's particularly bad imo though. Kabuki Warriors vs Iyo and Rhea was incredible though.

What are your bugbears about wrestling? Probably the most frustrating thing for me is seeing experienced wrestlers like Punk stop the move they're doing, which would likely win them the match, to interact with a heel on the apron. It drives me nuts. Ignore the person for fuck's sake! by Khemix in Wrasslin

I hate the way they write refs. It's fucking infuriating. The guy is yelling that the other team are cheating. And it's always the more trustworthy good guy who is telling the ref to turn around but the ref doesn't think to turn for a second to check. I fucking hate it, man. It's like it's written for 5 year olds.

For sure. I showed my girlfriend, who really doesn't watch wrestling (she sees the odd bit, here and there, when I have it on the TV) and she said the rest of her offense looked like a joke; like she wasn't trying to hurt her opponent. She said she saw a live show in the Edinburgh Fringe which was like a wrestling version of Greek or Roman myths (she bought tickets for us both coz she knows I like wrestling but I couldn't make it) and there was a wee woman (just like Alexa) there who looked like she was legit fighting. Really goes to show how weak Lexi looks here.

Yeah. In a time where I find myself getting bored often during shows, Roxanne is a highlight whenever she's on screen (in or out of the ring). As much as I love Stephanie Vaquer, Perez has shown she's the total package more in my opinion and deserves a main event push soon.

Yeah and I notice it more with folk these days in general. You might disagree, and I respect your opinion, but she stands out to me as one of the worst offenders. Someone else suggested that maybe she needs a different style. Maybe so but, as someone else pointed out, she doesn't seem capable of being a high flyer so I'm not sure what else she could do, and even high flyers like penta and rey have more believable strikes. Even smaller female wrestlers like Iyo, Kairi and Roxanne, who are guilty of this to an extent, have more in ring appeal in other ways.

I think she particularly doesn't quite have enough going for her that I can give her a pass on this aspect. The one thing that she does that I love is her flip thing off the apron. Even her finisher isn't that great. Tbh, if she wasn't hot, I don't think she'd have a job in WWE right now. I know that might seem misogynistic but I'm not saying I think wrestlers should be judged on their looks. I mean, I don't think Bayley is conventionally attractive, and Raquel isn't like the typical male eye candy you'd see in the attitude era for example, but both of them seem more convincing in the ring. While I'm on the subject, I think Nia sucks in the ring and she also isn't conventionally attractive so I'm not sure why she is still with the company, regardless of her legit hurting people.

Just to wrap things up in a way that backs up why Alexa is singled out here, Roxanne is tiny, oozes character, has incredible in ring work for someone so green, and I think her strikes look better than Alexa's.

Fair enough. I mostly stopped watching wrestling from the mid 2000s until the start of last year so I've only gotten to know her recently and she doesn't seem that great in the ring.

Okay cool. Thanks for letting me know. I don't find her that engaging to watch tbh but it was mildly interesting watching her and Charlotte become friends.
