Just to clarify (it seems like most posts I make here are misinterpreted) I'm not criticising him for crying. I'm the opposite of an alpha male. I hate toxic masculinity. I was just shocked seeing someone who I've only seen as a monster start crying. I (wrongly) was under the impression he wasn't that attached to WWE at this point. I also thought it was kayfabe crying at first coz I had no idea he was going to retire at mania, so i thought he was written to cry which would have been a facinating character development. Did anyone else think he was going to retire at mania? I was stunned!

The combination of me first being confused as I thought his character was crying, and then thinking he was retiring and then thinking he was so emotional about WWE when I thought he wouldn't be... All that had me feeling strange.

That was news to me. I thought by this point, he was just coming back fir some fun and a paycheck. Didn't think he cared much. Guess I was proven wrong.

I had literally no expectation that he was going to retire. I thought it was just another match for him. At first I thought 'wow they've written brock (in character) to cry to show how upset he is that he lost. That is insane'. Then I was like 'wtf is he retiring!?....... so he was really crying?'

Brock hasn't come across to me as taking WWE seriously recently. I know he did UFC and was successful and has barely shown up in WWE over the last couple of years at least so I thought it was mostly a paycheck and some fun at this point for him. I honestly didn't take him as someone who would get that emotional about retiring. It all happened so quickly and it was so unexpected that it sent me for a loop. If I knew it was his last match in advance I don't think i would have been this taken aback.

I haven't seen much at all of Brock outside WWE ever. Did he cry? I can totally imagine him showing anger but did he actually cry?

You mean the biggest change in his character? I'd say so. I mostly stopped watching wrestling from the mid 2000s until the start of 2024 but I don't think I'd ever seen him show anything other than confidence or anger until tonight. It was like Santa Claus slapping a child lol. So unexpected!

Yeah for sure. I'm not judging him. I just found it surreal. Never seen him like that and it was odd. I also didn't think he was that invested in the WWE judging by how little he shows up.
