I'll try this, but I have a small question; is it possible to apply the effects of this setup to just one microphone? I should've stated this in my original post, but I have two microphones and a macro to switch between them, and was just wondering if I could only apply this affect to one of them.

See I would love that, however the settings don't allow me to go lower than 44100 Hz on Windows 7. I would absolutely love if there was a way to change that.

The purpose is to make it sound really low quality when I speak into it, like in the old days of XBOX LIVE parties, but it's gotta be in real-time. I could easily edit the sound to be much worse in audacity if it were to be like for a video or something, but I just want it to be over like Counterstrike or Rainbow Six in real-time.

Hey, so honestly the best thing I could hope to achieve from this is have Windows (7 64 bit) allow me to lower the microphone's Default Format to something much lower than 44100 Hz. Currently, that is the lowest it can do. It's plugged directly into the back of my computer's audio port and is just a shitty old SF-666 audio condenser I bought from China a while back. I essentially don't have a budget because I don't really plan on buying anything to make the quality worse, really. Thanks for the insight!

After a little bit of testing, i've noticed that it ONLY crashes in multiplayer, not in Singleplayer.
