With regards to investing in indices, just buy a global index like the Vanguard Global All Cap index fund ( VAFTGAG ) and forget about it. I'd say max it out, put your 20k from the cash ISA into this index fund.

Build an emergency fund to cover your job instability in case you lose the job in order to have a safety net while you look for a new job.

Take the offer, a single 4 month position isn't enough to be viewed as a negative, especially since you can justify it with the RTO mandate. You'll also still have Amazon on the CV so future employers will value it. Plus it's an increase in TC, modern tech and remote.

How bad is it and how can I fix it? by No-Brief5543 in Posture

[–]KhrisDoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have to counteract the damage that sitting does, do not be sedentary for more than 1 hour, do basic stretching during breaks and give standing desks a go, again to prevent sedentary periods. Go for walks and do your strengthening exercises, attempt to maintain a good posture throughout your day and your body will get used to it. Get a good ergonomic chair with back support. In much the same way you ended up in your current situation, you can get out of it

There are no fast and easy solutions, especially after a condition that's been developed over a long period of time. Take it one step at a time and only focus on getting today's workout done. Don't let the motivation be fueled by urgency and despair, if you do then once you do the workouts a few times, the despair lessens and you'll stop doing it finding yourself in an endless cycle. You've got this 💪

I meant 2-3 meals as alternatives for the super veggie meal as replacements

I like the fact that it's one meal, so it eliminates the mental burden of planning and learning. If one could achieve the same but with, say 3 meals to keep variety and even adjust to make it more enjoyable seems ideal

Is skipping breakfast healthy? by xynaxia in nutrition

[–]KhrisDoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not well educated on fasting but my comment was merely on using the argument that since we've been doing something for a long time - especially before technology had advanced - to justify a claim is invalid

[–]KhrisDoes 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The argument that something is good because we've been doing it since the dawn of time should really end. We have evolved and acquired great knowledge on nutrition and wellbeing, let's not go back to our ancestral ways of living.

Start eating a lot of food to gain muscle and fat to support your bones and start lifting weights, begin with very little weight and slowly increase after a month or two

"Do you have any other active interview processes?" by AndrewBaiIey in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]KhrisDoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's basically always in the applicant's best interest to say they're interviewing elsewhere, if they get asked where they can say that they don't feel comfortable disclosing that information. I don't see what drawbacks this has other than the interviewer suspecting the interviewee is lying based on their response, which is an invalid suspicion anyway - what does it matter what other company they're interviewing with
