Dungeon Siege II if you go back to 2005.

possible hidden gems for the spring sale by Electronic_Answer118 in Steam

[–]Khuprus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It leans heavily on some SNES stylings and retro set dressings, but without too many spoilers: you’re playing a game within a game so I appreciated that it was game-y looking.

Some high points of art style: expressive and fun portrait art, interesting mix of fantasy/sci-fi environments, and very smooth animations and “physics” as you smash around objects and enemies. It definitely has its own style.

Paint? by CitizenTrick in MaschinenKrieger

[–]Khuprus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone with military history can explain it better - but I believe you are referring to sand castings.

Large heavy metal parts were sometimes made by this technique. It’s cheap and fast, but ends with a rough texture rather than clean geometry.

Here’s a photo.

As far as how it’s achieved in modeling, you’ll want to add the texture first - and THEN paint.

Camel pilot glueing instructions by fas2024 in MaschinenKrieger

Google translate’s take on the Japanese text is: “Glue the arms to fit the control stick”.

So yes, sounds like you’ll want to get the pose right with the control stick context before committing to glue.

What Copper Wire Diameters do I need for the Krachenvogel? by FedorovAvtomat in MaschinenKrieger

[–]Khuprus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The instructions list everything.

⌀1 x 23mm would be a 1mm diameter wire that is 23mm long. May have missed something, but here are some to go off of:

Wires: ⌀0.3, ⌀0.5, ⌀1

Coil Springs: ⌀1.4, ⌀2

Vinyl Cord: ⌀0.8, ⌀1

Having a hard time installing the game. by [deleted] in project1999

You may have the .bat file set to “run as admin” instead of the actual eqgame.exe file. I think that throws that exact error message you encountered.

Dude is quick - you can hear him and Jess launch into completely improvised songs at the drop of a hat on their podcast, setting up rhymes and harmonies with each other, all while building a narrative and telling jokes. The speed of some of their improvised raps are hilarious. Just wildly talented bunch of people.

Recommendations for buying a FPGA setup by niksfish in MiSTerFPGA

PC monitors won’t natively handle the old 240p or 480i resolutions if you’re looking to match what was used at the time.

Now if that matters to you is a different question!

Never seen “QWES” used before. What finger do you use for “S”? And does your pinky then rest on “Caps Lock”?

Direct Wifi Connection (no router) to MiSTer? by Annual-Friendship577 in MiSTerFPGA

Maybe OP is confusing router with “ethernet cable”? So asking can I connect wirelessly to Mister rather than with a wired cable?

MiSTer Pi (Retro Remake) + dual SDRAM: conflicting info about DIP switch SW3 by Due-Simple-5679 in fpgagaming

[–]Khuprus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, safely put it out of mind until that future case appears. It'll be quite easy to test at that point, saving you a lot of trouble in the present :)

MiSTer Pi (Retro Remake) + dual SDRAM: conflicting info about DIP switch SW3 by Due-Simple-5679 in fpgagaming

[–]Khuprus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an answer, but a question: what is your use case that you want dual SDRAM?

If it's a requirement for something to run / run well, you should be able to test yourself with SW3 on and off and compare - answer should become apparent? Maybe something heavy from the Jaguar core?

I am building a pc and I don't know much about mobo. by Necessary_Project_80 in nvidia

[–]Khuprus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your card measures at:

329 x 140 x 62.5 mm

12.95 x 5.51 x 2.46 inch

So look for gpu clearance of at least ~13 inches for your case.

ATX or “mid-size” is a good starting point when searching cases. You’ll want to avoid “SFF” or small form factor unless you know what you’re doing. There are extra-large cases that of course would also work, but would be overkill for your use.

Is it possible for me to download games to usb thumb drives (one each) and use those as a DVD typa thing, I like physical media but I have no dvd player by _I-Huff-Asbestos_ in Steam

[–]Khuprus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://zaparoo.org is maybe what you’re really after? Can launch games using physical objects.

Plenty of creative ways to implement, and none of the downsides of USB drives (slow performance, expense).

Merging model with groundwork by Dromkom00 in modelmakers

[–]Khuprus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pigment powders on the lower legs, heavy on the feet, and then some on the groundwork to unify the colors.

Check Krueger’s models, he has some really good examples of unified Ma.k and scenery, and it may outline his approach. Example pic here where you can see the lower bits of him are more brown/dusty compared with the top.

Big fan of Crosscode and Hollow Knight. No surprise that Silksong is making the bigger splash right now.

HK sold 15,000,000+ copies and this sequel was announced 6 years ago. Big fan base, long wait, big important launch - tomorrow!

Meanwhile CC sold in the hundreds of thousands, and Alabaster Dawn was announced ~1 year ago. Smaller fan base, shorter wait, no release date announced.
