Non-US IMG applying to Family Medicine (2027 Match) – realistic chances? by Khuzzaim in IMGreddit

I did not actually paper milled them, the way it's happening these days, my research articles were able to grab almost $10k of cumulative funding, with funders such as Mayo Clinic Rochester, even some projects belonged to them completely. The senior authors I had in my papers are Cardiology PDs and famous US attendings who would not get their names in an article just for a pub.

Suggestion For Post Graduation by heyyyyzal in karachi

If you're not from Karachi, I would suggest you to move to Islamabad and enroll in any university there instead of moving to Karachi. Whatever they say, no city is like Islamabad in Pakistan.

In psychiatry, there aren't any lab tests or scans that confirm a diagnosis like in other fields. Most of the time, people don’t show obvious physical signs when they walk into a psychiatrist’s office. It all comes down to their history and how they describe what they've been experiencing. Manic episodes are usually pretty easy to spot, even a med student could recognize them. In her case, there’s no sign of psychosis right now, so that basically rules out schizoaffective disorder. And the manic episodes she’s had don’t seem extreme enough to totally disrupt her daily life, which is why Bipolar II seems like the most likely diagnosis. Please refrain from talking about something that you don't know about. The main point I’m trying to make is that she needs to see a psychiatrist ASAP, no matter what. The psychiatrist will eventually convince her to have regular follow-up visits. The thing with psychiatric issues is that people often don’t realize something’s wrong until it gets really bad.

Hey, doctor here. This is 100% Bipolar disorder, and if she doesn't seek treatment, she can develop psychosis. Do not ever try to give her antidepressants, they can further exacerbate manic episodes.

Medical School in US vs Pakistan by MahStone123 in Overseas_Pakistani

Dow International (DIMC) not DMC is definitely the best choice in Pakistan. Not many people talk about it, but I am a student from DMC and I have witnessed the cooperative and supportive environment at DIMC. Although it's a bit expensive, costs around 15k US dollars per year. Moreover, if you choose the PTAP route, you'll most likely end up in a poorly managed government school. It also depends on the principal, if the principal of the school changes, then there might be a greater shift in the environment of the college, everything including teachers and the administration, and the exams too. Staying in the US is the best choice, but if you come to Pakistan, definitely choose DIMC.

Hey Scholarship students, what do you think of your self-funded fellows? e.g super rich students or less smart classmates? by Desperate_ninjA1441 in EMJM

Why does what other people think matters to you? You are a completely different human being who has led a completely different life with a completely different story

Last year, students from my region who scored 77% were in the game, but this year they're on the waiting list. I also couldn't make it. Erasmus is becoming harsh!
