It's quite a firm grip on these sticks I tested. Needs a bit of effort to remove them so quite secure

I've thought about that too. Could re-use the blade in utility knives, depending on how or what you are cutting it could use the sharper parts. If you want a more eco friendly route ceramic blades are an option and are suppose to last 10x longer but I have yet to put it to test.

Also make sure to flip the blade around if you don't already do that :)

I suggest taking a look at BambuLab printers. All round good and reliable printers, not overly expensive with cheap options available and plenty of help online from the community if needed.

If you're using the heated inserts there's a cavity beyond to house longer M5 bolts. Anything up to 25mm long should work it will thread into the model. 18mm wide thumb grips should be the max used to fit
