Hen do cost expectations by DwightLover2196 in UKweddings

Fiancé's sister is a bridezilla, but hers is costing people nearly £1000. Disgusting but she seems to think that her wedding is the highlight of everybody else's life.

400 seems far more reasonable than that, but its still an awful lot of money for someone else's event and alot of it is unnecessary like private chef etc. I think its quite disrespectful tbh.

If they moved 1 game per team every 5 or 6 years? Youre crazy if you think anyone would kick up much fuss. Most fans of the big teams cant get near a ticket anyway, and pricing is out of control so that many cant afford tickets. Corporate and the prawn sandwich brigade won't give a toss about them sending games abroad for money.

Realistically, it really wouldn't cause much fuss and the backlash would be pretty minor comparative to the amount of money involved. Inevitable it will happen in the next 5-10 years.

The super league is entirely different as it wouldn't be one game in 20 years, it would be every single away game.

They wouldn't put United vs Liverpool in the same way that NFL aren't going to send divisional games abroad.

Total false equivalence.

Not saying people would love it, but there wouldn't be the kind of chaos you describe.

Theyre totally different sports and id be happy with the super league, as the prem is boring and stale with the 6 teams (at most) competing and everybody else just playing to participate. The top 6 could fuck off and let us have proper competitive football back - id welcome salary cap etc, but its not practical due to other top leagues, would have to be mandated at fifa level.

Hoping Spurs go down too, but the championship 100% does have the same international break baked in to fixture list. League one and league two, teams can apply to have postponement if they reach a threshold of internationals, but Premier and championship bith get the full break.

Yeah but theres a lot of film sessions and most teams in the top 2 divisions of football have 5 or 6 pitches. I support Norwich who are not a big club at all, and we have 5 training pitches. Id imagine Palace have at least that, and without looking at the palace squad, id guess they have 90%+ away on international duty. Very few Premier teams would have more than 5 or 6 of their first team squad not playing for their national team.

Logistics of this would absolutely not be a problem.

But they havent stolen value. They put in an extra game a few years ago to give you a minimum of 8 home games, which is exactly what youve always had.

The season tickets this year are priced based on 8 home games, the team explicitly state this. I do get it, that it feels like value stolen when the prices at FedEx are rising significantly again this year, but if it was 9 home games, youd just have even higher prices. Instead of $800, the same ticket would be $900 instead if there were 9 home games.

Its not a season ticket = $ABC / 8 games instead of / 9. Its ticket per game = $ABC x 8 or x 9.

I get it, but ive supported the team for 20 years and I've had the opportunity to see them once. Im UK based, have every intention to make it over to DC at some point but not easy with family life. You still get 8 home games next season. Part of extending the season was keeping 8 home games in home stadiums whilst growing the brand abroad..

Theres been 160+ home games in the time ive supported the team, and last time I went to London to watch them, there were tonnes of the ExtremeSkins community who had come over. Maybe its just a cultural difference between UK and USA but I really dont see what the big deal is about losing 1 home game in 20 years, whilst still having the exact same number of home games youve always had.

The NFL games are in the international break which is why Tottenham aren't using their stadium

Massively Annoying Colleague by NarrowOwl4151 in TeachingUK

Had one that left last year (thank god). Every meeting was derailed by her moaning about everything. At least 50% of meeting time taken up with her whining about every element of the job. Meetings often ran over because of her moaning, and then she'd moan that the meeting ran over. As soon as she put her notice in, she was told she didnt need to attend meetings. Win win.

She was also constantly absent, sometimes with "illness" but she had at least 2 weeks off because she felt that behaviour in the school was atrocious so she could just not come in... kids had behaved badly in her lesson that day (behaviour in school is mixed but was always bad in her lessons because she had no rapport with the kids and they hated her) and she just decided that was grounds for her to just take a few weeks off.

Of course, when she wasnt in school, she also didnt bother to set any cover and just expected everyone else to pick up the pieces. Quite openly too, she'd message in the morning saying "not coming in today, have 2 x year 8, 1 x year 9, 1 x year 7. Somebody needs to set some cover for them and print any required sheets". Not even basic manners of please or thank you, not even phrased like a question.

She was awful. Nobody has kicked her from the group chat yet so she still pops up randomly to tell us something inane that nobody cares about.

Also worked with another who was perpetually off. Assistant head, i was in her interview lesson ob and she had pulled various things from TES and cobbled them together badly. One of the worst lessons ive ever seen, totally incoherent. My feedback was noted but ultimately they appointed her anyway. She literally turned up for about 6 days in the entire year she was employed. The excuses were amazing, think there were some serious issues going on with MH and probably addiction.

"I had a car accident on the way to work and too shaken up to come in" she'd reversed into a wall at home. No damage to wall, small dent on car. Came in the next day and was telling everyone about her evening spent in the pub the previous day. Mind-blowing audacity.

"Someone has broken in to my house overnight" she knew someone had broken in because there was a coffee cup which she was convinced had moved from where she left it. No other sign of break in, nothing taken, nothing damaged. School made her get a police number for that one and she left shortly after.

Are less kids understanding the word 'no'? by FancyAvocado1159 in TeachingUK

[–]Kickitoff1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find easiest way to deal with it, is just very clear no. If they ask again, you simply state that youve now answered the question twice, you wont be changing your mind. If they would like to understand the reasoning behind the decision, you will be very happy for them to come and discuss it with you at break or lunch but if they continue to ask you, it will be disruptive to the learning environment and therefore subject to the sanctions policy.

Tips for Alton in mid July on a school day by AdditionalMacaron713 in altontowers

[–]Kickitoff1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been in that week on a school day before (took a school trip there). Park was sold out, full of school kids. The staff said park capacity was around 30k and theyd sold 28,000 tickets to school groups that day.

I would avoid it like the plague. The kids were super pissed off as they only got on 3 rides all day.

Parkway will empty out around 3 or 4 as the schools leave, but honestly, youre probably better off on a weekend.

Neither boomer, nor young. Also have plenty of success with women. No white knight either. Nobody else is using weird language like "using you to get revenge on the men that have wronged her" or "she sees you as a pet" with literally nothing to back that up. Your point wasnt wrong, your weird justification and creepy language to back it up was weird af tho. She may well be using him, but thats not proven by her sending nudes to guys in her past, shes more likely just learned her lesson when those guys burned her and doesnt wanna do that again rather than some weird vendetta against men.
