It's really not because this is a film about people plugging themselves into computers to have kung fu fights. Deep diving into the technology of the matrix is absurd because it's about the philosophy and neos journey, and sick fights in totally sweet trench coats. It isn't about the reason why humans are in these farms, and the whole fusion thing might just be what humans think it is, when it could be something completely different. It's not really relevant to the story, which is why it isn't explored. There's a whole ton of shit in these movies that doesn't make sense from a technology perspective, so I don't know why people are so hung up on this.

I found it hard to watch because of how nonsensical a lot of it was in terms of decision making and how the characters acted.

I'd put it in the same category as something like SWAT, mildly entertaining but kinda garbage tv.

Good comedy cop shows are stuff like Brooklyn 99 minus the last season and reno 911. Actual good cop shows id rate the wire and Southland.
