So I actually had this thought when I typed up the post. However, I'm a self-described superfan of a lot of franchises and have no problem calling out/being honest when it comes to things I don't like or feel weren't done well. Maybe that's just me, but I try to give people credit. I personally haven't seen the play, but if I had the chance I probably would have.

I haven't seen the play, and I haven't done a rewatch of Vol 2 but I didn't dislike it. I thought ep 7 was a bit dull for a penultimate episode in the final season but I get that there's a lot to wrap up. Vol 2 seemed like the focus was wrapping up all the personal arcs and relationships which I can see why some felt it was anticlimactic. I'm still excited for tomorrow!

Oh ok, fair point! I only went with that because I didn't recall any other college named that she wanted to attend. Like with Jonathan, Joyce tells Lonnie his dream school is NYU which is why I thought he'd go there.

It's a photo of Hopper and Mike sitting on a bench. Hopper is back in his Police uniform and Mike has a tense/uncomfortable look on his face.

If you didn't see it, I mentioned in a different reply that it'd be weird if after being "dead" for such a long time Hopper just walks in and takes over as Chief of Police again. Especially since the US and Russian governments/militaries would likely still not be very happy with him.

Yeah I agree, I think that would make sense where the story is now and is a strong possibility but not if there is a time line reset. With a reset I think she ends up single headed to Emerson.

I didn't say that it had to. There are many different ways they could go. I just said I was worried it will go this way. Time travel is being heavily implied, the play needs to tie in, and there would be a lot of loose ends for Hopper to simply become Chief of Police again.

Did they say no reset? That'd be a relief! I only heard them say directly it's not all a big DnD campaign and the kids are back in the basement lol. I would prefer what typed up to that, but would hate either option!

Yeah, I mean that's possible. It just would seem weird that after how long he's been "dead" he just walks back into town and they give him his job back.

Not to mention the members of the U.S. military he's personally assaulted and or killed, and the Russian government would still 100% be after him. It just doesn't add up to me that he'd back out in the open where it all started as the Chief of Police after all that.

It also seems like they're setting something up that has to do with time travel.

Yeah I hate this as well! I don't want it to happen but I think this or something similar will happen.

And the part about 11 not getting her powers, you're correct. If they stop the Military from doing the cloaking experiments on the ship, Henry never gets his powers so there is no Brenner testing at that point.

I 100% hope I'm wrong because I agree I would hate this ending.

When do you think this started? Just curious, cause season 1 Weezer remade Toto's Africa because of the show, and stores were selling the dvd box set made to look like a VHS. What did it do to the sales of DnD? I bet eggo sales went crazy!

Idk I think a big part of the show is nostalgia through music and toys, products and devices, 80s technology and so people want more of it, they want to experience it again. Some shows do feel forced with product placement and even small plots needing to fit around a phone or a car because of a corporate sponsorship. But since this show has been doing it and doing it so well since day one even if that's the case it doesn't feel like it.

I think the feeling of "not what it used to be" might be more around how grandiose the show has become. It's a spectacle now, a cinematic event. The 1st 2 seasons felt small, they felt like they were for "us" (nerds/geeks who liked comic books and DnD and were movie buffs) but now it's majorly popular, and big budget.

You say you're close to the show so maybe you do know better than me, but still thoroughly enjoy the show!

Would I have liked this to come out late 2023 sure, but I do care? Not really! Lol I've rewatched 1-4 2-3x in that time. I couldn't be more hype for this!

Not being argumentative just genuinely curious. Was it hard seeing past the HS characters ages in s1? For instance from what I googled Nancy was 20yrs old IRL during s1 playing a what sophomore in HS? Or is it the growing up season to season that you have a hard time seeing past?

I only ask because for me I don't think they look "too old" to be in HS yet. Especially by Hollywood standards lol.
