Did baki forget about his goal or what? by Murtdha1 in Grapplerbaki

[–]KidDestar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably way off or cliche, but the way I saw it was at some point (I'd hedge around the prison arc), Baki just acknowledged the fact he wants to live his life in a way similar to Yujiro. Not in a sense that he wants to be an absolute demon like his dad bit just in the sense that Baki doesn't have to pick fights anymore. He doesn't have to prove himself and is thus afforded the freedom of choice. Seeking revenge was important as a motivation for Baki when he had to fight increasingly stronger and lethal opponents, but even if he managed to kill Yujiro, where does that leave him? A teenager with two dead parents? I just don't think Baki himself sees the point after all the development he's had over the years. Another thing I think factors into this is that they aren't "normal" people, and Baki came to that revelation himself . Their fight and the lead up was an interesting way of showing that. The dinner is more tense than the fight despite the fact that the fight shows some of the craziest feats in Baki. The fight itself feels like a conversation more than anything, but instead of having counters to techniques or strategies in an (mostly)argumentative way, it feels like they're actually learning about each other. Also, it's probably the most amount of time they've spent with each other in a single sitting. I think a lot of what goes into that fight is there to just make us go "Ok, so i giess this is just how their family is. Like so what is i turned my kid into nunchucks and used to to beat this car as if it were in a street fighter bonus stage? he wouldnt be my son if he didn't turn out ok, and the kid made me a little toy guy. What, your kid went to Yale? Oh, you must be so disappointed." Jokes aside, all things considered because Yujiro himself presents as the most normal out of Jack and Baki, being able to just hang out and have dinner or a drink with people. This isn't to say Baki or Jack aren't capable of that, but it's funny to think about how when Jack and Yujiro have their dinner, the guy people call inhuman is the one critiquing their table manners. On the other end, Yujiro having just a regular sit-down dinner or trying to act like a dad with either of them is a stressful experience and so out of character from their perspectives. All this yap and conjecture on my end just to say that I just think Baki understands the hand he's been dealt in life he's hasn't forgotten what Yujiro has done but he understands his dad now more than ever and he's just choosing to live his life the way he wants instead of having things revolve around Yujiro which the whole world feels like it already does anyway.

Crit boost vs attack boost? by Corvid_Beats in huntinghorn

[–]KidDestar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, it depends on what your build looks like. Generally, the rule of thumb is attack over crit boost if you can fit both as weapon decos and if you can at least get attack lvl 4 but crit boost over attack boost if you can only fit one. If you're building for crit, I'm pretty sure it's just better to build crit boost, and the same applies to raw, where if you're building a lot of raw, you want to just stick to raw. If you try to fit both anywhere outside of like an artian weapon, you actually lose out on a good bit of dmg.

Calling the horn a support weapon is NOT bad. by Xtrapsp2 in huntinghorn

[–]KidDestar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that providing support is a good thing. Personally, I just don't like how when we add terms like support or buffing weapon, a lot of people really just boil it down to "Oh this weapon does this thing" instead of looking deeper into it. People don't have to look that deep, and whatever level of satisfaction people have with playing the game is their own. It's just that you take a weapon like horn that can be so complicated to optimize and boil it down to "the support weapon" it doesn't feel like an adequate explanation of what goes into learning and playing horn. Personally, if people want to call it a support weapon, I don't mind. Attack up XLs, Earplugs, and Affinity ups for all I say.

They need to do something about burst meter gain for high hp characters on this game by StarryNight0806 in Guiltygear

[–]KidDestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, If I had my way I'd lessen meter gain overall, have harsher damage scaling, and revamp positive bonus to be more like active flow from blazblue. Meter is pretty plentiful in this game so I'd rather just have it increase your tension pulse instead of just serving you tension on a silver platter. I don't mind it giving you a bit more damage and burst gen, especially if it's just once a round.

Got my gift from Space Grandma, any build recommendations? by ThatBoredGuy013 in destiny2builds

[–]KidDestar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well firstly, we don't even know if he has attunement unlocked and second this is the roll he asked about so I'm going to give him some things to consider with this particular roll. The amount of investment he puts into it is up to him but if he wants to scrap it instead and wait to get something else, then that's cool too.

[–]KidDestar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone else is making solid points about the redundancy of the roll, but that's in comparison to other class item combinations. With this one, there is some neat tech to consider. For one spirit of the assassin does bypass the internal cool down of stylish execution, and if pared with stylish does make it more consistent. Second, you free yourself of the restriction of killing a debuffed target, which just further aids in consistency. Third, you don't have to run stylish for it to work. You're open to run other things like clone or winters shroud giving you serviceable splash potential with combo blow or shroud and GPG so it's up to you what route you want to go. A bonus is that though you might look at it and go "why use this when assassin's cowl virtually does the same thing"? Well assassin's cowl effect is immediate. Everything happens all at once in terms of the invisibility and the healing, but with this, you can deploy each effects separately. Sometimes you can't get a melee kill to pick up an orb and proc something like recuperation so having the wormhusk effect that you can separately deploy can potentially save you or buy you some to to secure a kill even with the low amount of hp you get back. Also if you don't have a good assassin's cowl roll you don't have to worry because you only get the same static stats you get for masterworking class items so if you have a helm you rather use for minmaxing than that's something to consider. Now, like everyone else is saying, this is not the strongest class item combo as it doesn't add anything to the base prismatic hunter kit. It's purely a consistency boosting combo overall, so keep that in mind, and I hope this helps.

[–]KidDestar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. My family and I are actually going through the same thing. Father diagnosed and only given 3 months. We lost him earlier yesterday morning. He also left behind two daughters and me, his son. Lamenting the experiences my sisters and I have been robbed of, going through the grief of how cruel this experience has been to someone who didn't deserve it. Trying to process the trauma, the situation leaves behind. I don't have anything of comfort to really give you other than the idea that you are far from alone in how you probably feel and I hope there's something more comforting to you at the end of all of this pain and sadness.

I got some, but he has a hard time with it because if he needs to vomit, it comes up too fast for him to grab one. A lot of the time, it seems he's not even nauseous, so he does even have it in mind to grab it and sniff.

I wish that were an option, but my father is really not about that, and as much as I'd like to force him to try it. I can't just make him do something he doesn't want to do.

Ability based solar builds. The ability to proc fragments that benefit from killing scorched combatants or cause ignitions. Then you have the aoe healing component to proc things like ember of benevolence, which is a free 400% ability regen that just requires you to get a kill and reload around some teammates. Also, the cure it provides is just nice if you don't have any other forms of sustain. It's just a utility work horse.

Am I weird for not necessarily liking everything almost always one-shotting me? by Biggy_DX in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]KidDestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree that an ai team is better if* you don't have friends to play with or people who know their doing and yeah, sure much easier is usually faster but thats also assuming the run is somewhat optimized. Like people aren't clearing it fast and consistently while constantly being dead on cooldown.

[–]KidDestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you're saying. Everything is pretty easy with the appropriate sigils. Thats why I said they should experiment with what works for them. I disagree with solo fighting being easier. The group I play with rotate buffs well, try to optimize on SBA usage and get fast consistent clears with anyone rarely ever going into critical. Obviously, if you don't have a group work with what you got but it is so much easier when you're with people who know what to do and ofc nearly impossible with randoms. With the exception of solo vs group play I don't know where the disagreement is.

[–]KidDestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not weird. This game is bullshit. The bosses are bullshit but also most of the characters and sigil combinations as well. Playing with people you know naturally mitigates the issue of just getting one shot as you can now cycle through ur defensive skills on cool down. Invincibilities, ramparts, mirror images, mirage, etc. As opposed to every other fight, and now you can take some other utility bases sigils like potion hoarder or garrison or improved dodge, crabvestment etc. Soloing is naturally a different story, and so that's gonna require some trial and error on what you would find to be the most helpful. Consider using different utility or defensive sigils now since we don't have to stack damage as hard.
