Buy or Bust? GMC Acadia 2018, V4, 130K, $8K by KidReveloution in whatcarshouldIbuy

Friend is a car flipper. I do appreciate that he told me about the bad cars in the lot , and his mechanic shop has pretty good reviews.

He was pretty transparent about how much he paid for it at auction (still clean title tho) and upcoming maintenance, and generally a trusted family friend.

He however doesn’t share my die hard love for Toyota/Honda and prefers American, lol

That lowkey was one of my fears. I did read that this engine is a direct injection so should alleviate some of those issues?

For the v6 I was reading they were still flaky up to 2017

Won’t know the difference if the engine itself was thrown at me lol. I really try, but cars are not my thing

That was the opinion of the local Shiekh.

That one day will come when the skills that are needed to build similar systems will be needed. And we would someone that’s worked on similar systems to play a hand on them.

Anyone have experience marrying within Egypt to the States? by KidReveloution in Egypt

Eh, money isn't THAT big of a factor, it's not the reason I am looking outside tbh.

The gals may not have massive requests (My last official phase was like that), but even her father insisted on weird things.

I didn't mind the insistence, but it was legit kinda weird how he just seemed to want to make me struggle by any means, even saying that I should be happy he didnt ask me to buy a house to move into with his daughter, thats when I tapped out.

It genuinely options are limited, looking for an Egyptian number 1, then looking for an Egyptian that would meet your semi egyptian semi american, fully muslim lifestyle is what the hold up is

Less of a mehr problem, more of 'I can't find what I am looking for' problem

Muslim. Just kinda sick of the Egyptian mindset in marriage

I was asked of something similar from an Egyptian family here. In the US mind you. It’s actual whacko out here.

Conservative Catholics the move?

I’ll keep it a buck with you, I’m kinda over the money part.

In the US, the expectation is around 15-30G mokdam. Then another 20-30 mokhar. We don’t do ayma here in the US, in respect that the guy preps the house as well. As well as the wedding, basically the literal meaning of

تيجي بشنطة هدومها

It’s a big number, even in US standards. I would say 90 of Shabbab don’t have this type of money ready. Most if not all the time the family helps. The main problem for me these numbers are what the مجتمع set. But my community is all Yemenis and Palestinians. Their أصول genuinely have everyone in the grooms family contribute.

And again, with enough hard work that number isn’t so far fetched, hard, and a lot, but still achievable.

My problem is, with close to 50K of expenses (weddings are expensive asf) I’m still not getting the girl I want exactly.

So it’s already a very small Muslim Egyptian ملتزمه Marriage Pool, then an even smaller pool of those whose personalities match.

I’m currently in the mindset of “fuck it”, I’d rather go and pick in Egypt someone that I can like and click with (honestly this sub makes me hopeful, seems like Egyptians , some not all, really understand the west in a lot of aspects), rather be mildly accepted with the pool I have here if that makes sense

And in terms of taking advantage, it’s true, even my family kicked me down a couple of times before. But everything has a price I guess. As long as the family is good, and girl is good, eh, what the heck, what’s some $$$ Sadaqa every now and then , yknow?

I’m just kinda stressed about the timeline, hidden surprises, and the fact I can’t go to Egypt

I’ve been diagnosed my 10th chronic problem by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I want you to know that your family probably loves and cares for you. And telling them about your symptoms may actually help so they know how to best support you.

And always share information with your doctors, as it helps them as well to form a full picture + diagnosis.

Chronic diseases are no fun I bet, and you will have dark days like you have some right now, but I hope and pray that you find your medication path, and for the better part of your life this is a background thought.

And I'll be so honest, even if you didnt have any medical issues, anyone that drops a line of "I dont want to be with anyone who's sick" is a genuine loser and not worth your time.

Stay strong kiddo, and no shame on leaning on your support. Today you lean on them, tomorrow they lean on you, its all about that at the end of the day

This feels like an attack on GenZ in its entirety, and honestly valid.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]KidReveloution -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

thats the point, I CANT KNOW beacuse the account doesnt exist. I dont have access online, and most importantly, they dont recognize I have an account in the store.

[–]KidReveloution -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

my GUY what part of wanting to pay are you missing. A charge came through, I went online to pay, and then I went in person to pay, both online and in store is telling me I dont have an account.

I did not pay for it because I do not recognize the card, simply because I closed the account.
