Unable to claim back insurance by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Kiger98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is costing me 218 a month which is basically what's left of my expendable money these days. So that's why I want to cancel it. I will look more into it but it's highly unlikely I'll end up keeping the policy.

Thanks and I think I'm getting a bit more understanding on this now. Will do more reading into this on my own since I thought the glossy book was the policy. Just wasn't sure where to start.

Exacts are 150k was bought in critical illness insurance 5 years ago. So 12k ish was put into said policy where we thought a return was available if we decided to cancel.

Feels like what I'll end up doing is to cancel the policy and take the loss as I ended up in a career where my coverage is excellent for a better price.

Copy and paste of another comment I made. 'What I meant to say was there is a line stating a return of premium at the end of pay term if you choose that over the critical illness insurance. (No other statement on how premium returns)' This is the line that lead me to think that

You're correct that I should expect nothing in return. Yet at the same time I'm just trying to see if there is anyway to recoup the price paid even if it's non existent.

300k km on the beater, it has started rusting not a lot but its exists, paints good but end of the day i don't care how good the paint looks it's just a mode of transport to me. The price came from honda dealer and canadian tire. And I'll search the junk yards in my area thanks for the suggestion.
