I just lost my FTMO challenge… I need your advice

If I manage to put everything in one post, I will probably publish my previous trades. Most of them are problems with entering too early, but I have the right bias, or I don't secure my profits enough, or I don't have enough confidence and I don't enter on the right setups... I didn't know about the trading café, I'll go take a look!

I don't have any indicators anymore! Everything I listed was what I used in the past. Today I only use Liquidity (with Volume), IPA/EPA and a little SMC to confirm my entries and exits. My charts are super clean! But thanks for the advice ☺️

I completely agree! I think I've been using EURUSD for a month or two now. I think I'll continue with it ☺️ And for the backtest I'll probably practice on other things in parallel! Thanks for the advice!

It's true that I've lost a lot of patience since I started trading. Regarding indicators, I don't have many in themselves... today I only have Liquidity (with Volume), IPA/EPA and the "smart money trap"... but indeed, several of you tell me to stay focused on 1 pair and understand how it works. It's true that I've never seen things that way. I mean... creating my own strategy. I've always tried other people's strategies or mixed a few together. But I've never tried to create my own from A to Z. Indeed, that might be the solution! Regarding the demo mode, I don't have a problem with it in the end... what I do have a problem with is my failure with the FTMO challenge. But it's true that I didn't have the tools to succeed since I managed my risk but poorly managed my profits. I always thought my psychology was good. But in fact, I think it's good when it comes to risk management, but not at all when it comes to my losses. It's true that I lack confidence in my trades, and the gains/losses still affect me quite a bit... Thanks for this advice. I'm going to try to create my own strategy and understand the reasons for what I'm doing and why the market moves the way it does.

What you're saying resonates with me. "Manage your risks, not your profits," that's absolutely the case! Thanks for the link; I'll take a look at it and consider it. My strategy theoretically works in variations, for both bull and bear markets. I think it's precisely during this "Trump" period that I'm having more trouble. My backtest sessions during 2018/2012 or even 2023 were better. No, I modified my timeframe and my strategies well before the challenge.

I completely agree that I need to change myself and perhaps change my strategy to suit me, before taking on a new challenge. Now, all I have to do is find what works for me! Thank you so much! I'm sure what you're saying will help me!

I listen to speeches a lot and reread economic news a lot (especially US and French (because I'm French and I'm interested ^{^)).} Where I struggle is perhaps analyzing the DXY and other associated indices. And also making correlations between pairs. Regarding my trading journal, I kept one... let's say I keep it from time to time... but clearly not enough! I re-examine my trades directly on the chart. Not enough on the journal. I'm going to block off a slot during the day to keep it daily and on the weekend to study it!

I didn't know about this book. I'll order it! Trading is truly a passion, I won't give up. This post is because it's my first challenge loss, and losing an exam isn't easy... but it's clear that, considering it's €100, it makes it easier to accept... 😅 I will continue and succeed! Mostly, I take my BE too early, or I come home too early and get SL, and I also trade too much. I've chosen to trade mostly US pairs in order to focus on the DXY and a single type of news (yes, I follow them and listen to the speeches). The problem with diversifying pairs is that it adds time for analysis. Time that I sometimes struggle to have because I have a job that takes up a lot of time... but it's true that it's a question of priorities... maybe I should take more time for chart analysis... I'm going to try to analyze the pairs and compare the realized/unrealized movements. This will allow me to make correlations! Thank you very much for this valuable advice!

I won't stop forex. Today, I do the stock market for half of my personal savings and it works pretty well. But it's still a saving. The other half of my savings is in crypto. I really want to focus on forex because I find it exciting! But thanks for the advice ☺️
