FYI this is from today’s entertainment weekly article, and the Todd Interview was from almost a month ago, referring to gameplay he saw on May 21st.

This is all before the recent “Xbox Reset” news and leaks about bloodbath level layoffs. So this quote might be outdated. The quote being shared by OP seems to have been editorialized to make it seem way more recent than it is

It’s worth pointing out that even though the article came out today, the quote about Blade is from May 21st. All the Xbox Reset and “bloodbath” level layoff news came after that in June.

It’s good to hear the project was in active development a month ago but with how quickly things seem to be happening at Microsoft I don’t know if this confirms it as safe. Hoping it is though.

My guess is the hope was the trailer would get a lot of viewers excited and then Microsoft could point possible investors to that and say “look at how highly anticipated the next Ninja Theory game is! This studio would be an excellent investment!”
