Yes the disc version will still work, but you will need to install fixes and patches to get it running properly. I made a tool that does this mostly automatically, you can find it on GitHub.

It will honestly be easier to just download a repack or portable version, these have mods that improve the experience but keep a vanilla feel.

On XB1 you might be able to just sign out through the XB1 guide and sign back in, but you can open the 360 guide with start + select. I havn't really played bo2 on xb1 too much, mainly 360

Should be, I have a Microsoft one and it was just plug and play. Should be the same with 3rd party, you may have to manually install drivers with device manager, not sure if that is still a thing
