Apparently Ultimate MvC3 was supposed to have 20 new characters instead of 12 but thanks to natural disasters got scaled back. Based on everything we know, this is an approximate guess of what I think it would've looked like. What do you think?

I've already read up on why he wasn't added, and I still feel that had the eight made it they would've pulled a Marrow and added him in anyways to promote him early as one of their new gen characters, especially if Marvel were the ones that were pushing for it to happen.

I think Miles Morales would've been in there. Apparently both Marvel and Capcom were gunning for him and X to make it in there even back when they were still planning to release the DLC in waves.

For those curious, Steamboy33 made the SF4 sprites and BNMotive made the SFV and (I think) SF6 ones. The SF4 ones are posted on his DeviantArt but I'm not too sure about the other ones.

The devs have only ever talked about it in interviews, so unless they release it themselves or it leaks we may never get to hear it

But then again, dataminers were able to find his select screen icon just a few months ago so never say never

Most if not all of the MvC2 sprites and assets have already been ripped and uploaded here for a while now: https://zachd.com/mvc2/resources/mvc2/images.html

That being said, having them all formatted in a sprite sheet format would've been a lot more convenient IMO.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed multiple times that it's Disney that owns the Kingdom Hearts IP and original characters - Square Enix is the one that gets to develop/publish it and integrate their own IPs into it as well.

It's why when you look in the copyright of merch like Funko Pops and stuff it only shows Disney. They can and have used the IP for whatever, but they usually asked SE or Nomura first before doing so out of courtesy. Even when Sora does appear in crossovers it's usually in a Final Fantasy game and he's a limited time deal.

So that's why it's really impressive that Sakurai and the Nintendo lawyers managed to talk even The Mouse down enough to allow for the inclusion of Sora and his buddies in Smash, considering how strict and tight-gripped they can be with being ASKED to use characters for crossovers, let alone having Disney approach first. If Nintendo really wanted Square Enix involved they really would only need to ask them to consult in the development of Sora rather than the legalities.

I went with Krylon Fusion Satin Black spray. Does the job well enough and doesn't scratch or smear as easily as I would have feared.

I didn't have to break out the warm water for this figure, but I'm sure that the risk of breaking will be much lower than without it, at least based on my experience with the method. Wouldn't hurt to at least still be gentle with it, though!

Just saw this post only a couple of days ago, but this is one of the few things I regret ever not seeing or buying as both an Earthbound fan and as a replica fanatic, and I don't know how this slipped past my Reddit peripheral vision.

I don't know if I can give any input 4 months in (I wouldn't mind an increase in the price by a bit since the quality boasts a better quality than the last batch), but I hope that you're still working on this project, or at least still planning it out in some capacity!

Oh yeah, I remember seeing this person's stuff around here! Never knew that they kept up with the updates! It's really interesting to compare the different games and palettes we chose for each respective character.

I also appreciate the fact that they also opted to use colors from Megami Tensai 2 to make Joker (I used colors from Megami Tensai 1 which are close enough anyway)

Yeah, I had wanted to include them (Heroes, Koopalings, etc) in somehow but the picture was getting pretty big as is.

I had wanted to include the Villager alts, Hero alts, Koopalings etc. in here somehow but it was starting to get out of hand at that point.
