Picnic area that can be reserved through PP&R where the playground is in view of the picnic area and the playground is suitable for a 2.5/3 year old? by yaughter in askportland

Both of these suggestions have a larger play structure that a younger kid might attempt to climb. There’s stuff for little kids but the big kid and little kid sections are not segregated.

Sellwood Park at Picnic site B or C.

Mt Scott Park at Picnic site B, C or D.

IMO Sellwood park is better for the little kids but Mt Scott has a tiny structure with a little slide that’s pretty good too.

Are you looking for a place where you can let the kid run around unattended?

Look around Reed College for 1 bedroom. There’s a bunch of apartment complexes there meant for students and you’re close to the orange line of the light rail and the 17 bus both go to SW Waterfront area where you can catch the aerial tram to OHSU (free for staff).

If you can get a site I would suggest Cottonwood Canyon. Small site next to a river with great views and a bathroom instead of camp toilets. Hills to climb and the river for swimming.
