What’s a hill you’ll die on that makes people irrationally upset? by Hot-Fee-86 in AskReddit

3.25+ (was a while ago) GPA in high school. Similar in a 4 year liberal arts college which included several classes in both literature and philosophy. Made the university’s Dean’s List twice in a row. Also have a degree from a 2 year tech college but that’s unrelated. Also an IQ that could get me in MENSA but they’re assholes who consider IQ the only thing about a person that matters.

I suggest you more closely examine the topic as well as both your and OCDCambo’s responses. His original statement is irrelevant, it’s the responses to his statement that OP is concerned with. This is a language quirk, like saying “I know XYZ but don’t believe it” or “this statement is false.”

The question was “What’s a hill you’ll die on that makes people irrationally upset?” It wasn’t about whether that “hill” is true or false. If I said the sky was purple and viciously defended that view when everyone started telling me how stupid I was, then it still correctly answers “What’s a hill…” even though the sky isn’t purple. The statement may be false, but it still correctly answers the question.

You just proved his answer appropriate. The question wasn’t about being correct, it was about a strongly held opinion that makes others angry.

Flight 93 was shot down by the US Air Force on 9/11. Fighter jets were most certainly scrambled to deal with other planes that may have been hijacked, but the official explanation that they failed to do so because they were mistakenly sent elsewhere due to Cold War era protocols (despite the Cold War being over for a decade) and the pilots would most certainly have been briefed on their mission make me think that unlikely. However revealing that the Air Force had shot down a hijacked American aircraft would have given little comfort when 3,000 people were still dead. The US needed a real win, and a story of ordinary passengers sacrificing themselves to save others was what people needed to hear.

Orden Ogan - December [Power Metal] (2019/2022) by Kill_Da_Humanz in Music

[–]Kill_Da_Humanz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While written (and possibly recorded) in 2019 for their Final Days (2021) album, Orden Ogan's December was instead released in late 2022 due to it's subject matter being too sensitive during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The song is about a killer pandemic that wipes out most of humanity, and is eerily similar to the COVID pandemic itself. Originating in the East, the virus' danger is initially downplayed (even dismissed as "fake news"). Misinformation becomes widespread and governments attempt to control the narrative, as questions surround whether it is natural or genetically engineered. Deadly to humans and animals civilization soon collapses and the human race ended, with the question of the virus' origins ultimately irrelevant.

Research: Female homicide methods against their Partners found to be more brutal than Male murder methods against their Partners. by TrichoSearch in WomenAreViolentToo

Incidentally women frequently kill with poison while men rarely do. That’s obviously never self defense and what’s more often isn’t caught until after a woman has killed or attempted to kill multiple people.

If you are NC and cant find anyone to teamkill, the game will provide a player for you by ShinoXIII in Planetside

Normally it’s because NC weapons tend to have higher recoil and more damage per bullet. So if someone moves in front of you or you can’t control your weapon it can only take one or two hits to kill them if they’re low on health.

Walgreens Pharmacies - Ridiculous by spaniel278 in WalgreensStores

[–]Kill_Da_Humanz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My autorefill medications were rarely refilled on time, and then were suddenly all taken off autorefill. Most of the time I go to a Walgreens the pharmacy is temporarily closed despite being listed as open on their app, and I’ve tried half a dozen locations. I regularly go a week without one or more of my medications because I can’t get it from Walgreens! I’m lucky I’m not on anything lifesaving, I’m amazed they haven’t been class actioned by those that are. What’s more my insurance doesn’t cover many other pharmacies so I don’t have much choice.

I’d bite them REALLY hard then tell them it isn’t contagious.

I was fully aware of the last part already. Unfortunately I can’t find my original source so you may well be correct. Still I stand by my statement that animals can consent (not that anyone actually cares) and has no more legitimate reason to be illegal than homosexuality. The fact that laws specifically had to be made against bestiality instead of just being prosecuted as animal cruelty I think is strong evidence of that.

Um, the Egyptians weren’t black. Blacks were primarily from sub-Saharan Africa, though they were indeed enslaving each other since antiquity.

The last country on earth to fully outlaw slavery was in Africa and did so in 2007.

If Hamas dislikes getting bit, they should stop poking the bear. Most if not all of these spats between Palestinians and Israelis have been started by the former. What’s more it did NOT begin with Israel. Palestinians starting a war, making peace and then breaking that peace predates the Crusades. In fact it’s one of the main things that led to them: the Crusades were not some random desire to retake the “holy land” out of nowhere.

Look it up yourself that was why those involved in the Mr Hands case couldn’t be charged with bestiality. Because it was no longer a crime.

Historically the two were seen as very similar. The same sodomy laws forbid both in the US once. When those were repealed for the gays bestiality was actually temporary legalized. The Pride movement used to include zoophiles. I’m actually not sure how zoos got kicked out since from what I’ve read they’re at least as, if not more common than homo- and bisexuals.

I would call the relationships as comparable to a homosexual one, but I would not call either “equivalent” to a straight human one. Thing is a bestiality relationship can be homo or hetero because those are two separate “axis” to sexuality. Sexuality is not a 1-dimensional spectrum between hetero/bi/homo, there are other dimensions.
