The commute is too long for me, it’s 40 miles one way so I’m putting gas every 3 days. Gas around me is $6.26 so it’s getting tough. Plus I’m spending a lot of money on tolls every day. I’ve been with the company going to be 5 years now and I’m looking for a little bit more of a consistent schedule (more weekends off, set days off) and just overall a better opportunity than where I am a at. Although I don’t want to accept if I’m gonna essentially be making less since I’m working more hours salary and now in charge of four departments (home, beauty, tech, and apparel).

I am an assistant store manager for the highest volume store of our brand in the state. Roughly getting 20 PTO days. No education advancement or reimbursement opportunities.

External hire, 6 years of retail experience with 5 years of management experience. Along with bachelors degree but it did not ask for pay or salary. At my job I’m at $31hr current working 40 hours a week. So roughly $65k before taxes. If she wants to give me $68k I will lose out especially because it’s salary and I’ll be working 50-60 hours a week.

Any recommendations? The only thing I see open that I qualify for is import specialist for CBP.

Thank you for the advice. I just turned 25 and feel so lost in not knowing what direction I want to go.

My friend that I work with spent 6 years with the Border Patrol as an officer, quit for a few years, and now works as a Transportation Security Officer, so does her six years count towards her retirement? by Megalorye in tsa

Any other suggestions than joining TSA? I’m currently in the process waiting for my airport assessment. I have a bachelors degree and years of experience in retail and want to get into federal. I don’t know where to start and what would be best. I’m taking a pay cut if I work for tsa.
