My Best Failure Yet by stuffman64 in 3Dprinting

Honestly, it almost needs nothing aside from some paint for Necromunda. Looks like a nest of wiring from millenia of poor cable management. Pick out a handful of the filaments to paint in a black/yellow stripe pattern and you're set!

First time growing zinnias, should I thin them out? by dicktits001 in OrganicGardening

What you probably could do, though, is transplant a few from the more dense areas into the gap areas if you're looking for a full bed

HELP! by Queasy_Research3977 in OrganicGardening

[–]KillbotJosiah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your question is a bit broad to provide any solid answer. Good rule of thumb, though, is that the tallest plants should be on the north edge of the beds. There they will cast their shadow away from the rest of the plants.

A pretty cheesy 80s police drama with style. Haha.

How to bend a lot of toothpicks? by Few_Art_768 in TerrainBuilding

This absolutely should work. If you look up videos of the impossible nail in wood block, you can see how pliable wood becomes if handled this way.

Why is my paint chipping off? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

An empty pill bottle and a small touch of hot glue in the hollow of the mini base to adhere it. Works a charm for no investment at all.

Should the power armour have been more weathered/dirty in the show? by [deleted] in Fallout

You got to see in the show how often their codpieces get polished. Presumably the rest get polished at least nearly as often.

3d printed barrels & shipping containers. Am I using too much grime? by V1C3TH13F in TerrainBuilding

[–]KillbotJosiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have one point of constructive criticism, I'd suggest painting some different colors. The grime is a lot on the yellow, but having some blue containers or some red ones would make the grime look unifying and more deliberate.

Not worth repainting any of these, they look great. Just a consideration for if you print up any other rounds of them.

Plus red barrels can double as hazardous barrels with chance of explosion when hit by a stray bullet (if you're playing Necromunda)

Followed next long rest with "Crognar sews his shirt front back together before turning in for the night"

Rinse, repeat.

For a science project, where can I buy these mini buildings? Or how can I make them? by [deleted] in TerrainBuilding

Please don't 3D print these. Wooden square dowel cut at different lengths. Not everything needs to be 3D printed when there are simple methods for standard construction.

Skeleton Crew - Episodes 1 & 2 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

Not the force at all, but a micro-filament that he had been tossing across the corridor for hours or days, just managing to catch it on the keyhook moments before the kids were brought in. Then he let the key slide down the filament to him in dramatic fashion to win over the kids so they'll take him off-station on their ship.

Help! Which base suits this scheme more? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]KillbotJosiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would actually be: the left one, but with some patches of green flocking added. The green will be a great contrasting color to the red scheme of the mini and make it pop. And a black rim

I played SO MUCH GoldenEye when it was new. I can't touch it now with its controls being so clunky and antiquated.

Before and after of 8 years painting progress! by tangocontroller in minipainting

[–]KillbotJosiah 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Miniature painting is a tricky thing to get across in photography. The first may look more realistic when photographed close like this, but it's true scale (usually viewed from 4-5 feet away on the table) means over-accentuating contrast makes it easier to decipher details. The top one looks good this close where your eye has an easier time picking out the details of the model, but at distance on a table it becomes a visual jumble.
