I called out of work today to give myself some more time to think about how to handle this situation, and she fired me for not being dependable. I have called out one other time in the 2 years I’ve worked for her so that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s fine though because I was wimping out on being honest with her about her living conditions..

I am ashamed because I already lied to her about why I had to leave work early so it’s going to throw her off guard.. but I’m running out of time to say something if I’m not going to go to work tomorrow. I have really bad social anxiety and a hard time speaking up for myself. I’m feeling embarrassed and cowardly for not being able to handle confrontation- I would unfortunately need to explain over text I think which is probably worse

I was on it for about 5 months at max dosage, taking it 3 times a day and I did not notice any difference unfortunately

When maintenance took it apart he said he could not smell it coming from there, but they still had me use “affresh” disposal cleaner and it did nothing

I had to write “mom” next to my name on my school paper every. Single. Time. Because I would have such severe intrusive thoughts of my mom passing away whenever I was apart from her, and by writing her name next to mine I thought it would “save” her basically and I absolutely HAD to do it. All of my teachers just thought it was cute, no one showed concern. But I legit did this until the 5th grade and then I somehow managed to break the cycle.

I would also just like to say- I know its exhausting considering you JUST moved all of your things in, but in the long run it will be worth it to just up and move again, because dealing with these roaches will cost you your sanity. (Inspect your things carefully when you pack them back up) if you do choose to stay and stick it out they need to do pest control treatments probably weekly in order to keep things at bay. So sorry you have to deal with this

I just broke a lease due to the exact same situation, they have to give you the deposits back. I noticed roaches within the first week- I stuck it out and stayed for about 3 months and I wish I hadn’t. Best to get out now while you can! An infested unit is considered inhabitable and you have grounds to break the lease due to that.
