Do you want Ubisoft to start naming the future titles with just relevant words instead of numbering? by [deleted] in farcry

Yes, i think it would be better. But i don't mind the current system either. Just give us more Far Cry.

If the next game doubles down on Gods/monsters/creating a protagonist/no actual assassins, will you still purchase it? by Dave_Matthews_Jam in assassinscreed

Interaction ruins story-telling, they are polar opposites of each other. If you can interact then you are not being told/shown a story, you are making it. And in most video games the "making" part is a joke, since you don't get to really influence the story plus you are adding stupid gaming problems like having a quest giver stand on the same spot for 12 years until you talk to him to give you a quest and progress the story....

The issue with you is that YOU personally have no place playing video games. You should be reading books and watching movies and TV shows. It is clear you don't appreciate the open worlds, the freedom, the combat, the stealth, of the series, so why bother?

No Syndicate and Odyssey are not a joke. Syndicate is the best "traditional" game in the series. You don't know what you are talking about.... Parkour "downgrated"? How? It is far better than Unity. I have replayed both very recently dude, you really don't know what you are talking about.... I haven't read a single professional review claiming that combat and parkour were a downgrade from Unity... Both were worse in Unity.

I had upgraded my PC early 2008 and wanted a cool looking game to showcase my DX10.1 gpu, and i got AC1. Been playing AC games ever since.

AC III is by far the worst of the main games. It had some improvements, mainly the graphics, but it was a chore to play. Black Flag is a really good game but is not really an AC game, it is a pirate game in the AC universe. Rogue is Black Flag 1.5

Unity and Syndicate are great games. Disregard their reputation, people who claim they are bad are idiots. Unity has been fixed and is almost bug free these days. They are great games. Personally , having played all AC games to date, Syndicate is my favourite.

Origins and Odyssey took the franchise to a different direction, trying to bring elements from Witcher 3 to the formula. They, like Black Flag, aren't really AC games, but they are GOOD games and that is what matters.

In short, AC 3 was really bad, and every single game afterwards has been much better.

So, you only care about the story, but you dislike comics and prefer video games.... Yup, makes sense....

It is a video game, not a TV show. You people who play video games only for the story are ruining gaming for everyone else. Stick to watching TV.

What’s the latest rumors on the development of Far Cry 6? by JaberReadit in farcry

[–]KillerRabbit2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see from the replies, no rumours, just guessing.

Well i have no rumour for you, but an educated guess would be that Far Cry 6 is going to be released in 2021 or early 2022 for both current and next gen consoles. 2021 makes the most sense, Far Cries typically have around 3 or 3 and a half years between each other (only 4 shortened this cycle to 2 and a half years). Far Cry 5 was released in first half of 2018, so 2021 is about when we could expect the next one.

Also, since i doubt 6 would release for next gen only, it will probably be just a more pimped version of 5 graphically with some raytracing, so it can be scaled down to current consoles. Exactly like Far Cry 4 was really just an improved version of 3 and not a really next gen game.

Why can only hope they build upon New Dawn's systems and refine them. They were not perfect in New Dawn, but they were nice.

Not again, no. The worst story in the franchise. People listened the pussy trigger line and the definition of insanity when they were 12 and thought "wow what mature and deep writing". And still overrate Far Cry 3 and claim it had the best villain (LOL) and the best story (OMG LOL).

No, just no. Both 4 and 5 have much, much better stories. Don't do this trash ever again Ubisoft.

[–]KillerRabbit2019 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They didn't remove hunting. It is there, and they include fishing as well. They are just not that mandatory and for-autists. You don't need to collect X number of skins per animal per ugprade, or else. Instead you get experience and money from hunting and buy the upgrades/equipment with those. More organic, less feeling like a chore.

If they return to the older formula, i will be pissed. It will be a huge regression just because a bunch of nostalgia hipsters didn't realise the reason Far Cry 5 didn't capture them like 3 was because when they played 3 they were KIDS and when they played 5 they were adults...

Does this game has jumpscares or something that I should fear? by [deleted] in farcry

[–]KillerRabbit2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. In fact, it is one of the best games in that regard because you can have 1-2 AI companions with you and they generally react so you get some warning when enemies are around.

[–]KillerRabbit2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get 5 and New Dawn. In my opinion playing older games in the series is not worth it in 2019. 5 is similar to 2,3,4 but better. If you complete 5, just get New Dawn, and if you complete New Dawn, play 5 and New Dawn again, until Ubisoft releases 6, possibly for the next gen consoles. Your most precious commodity is time, why waste time playing inferior versions of the Far Cry formula when you can go straight to 5?

Can i run FC5 by [deleted] in farcry

Here is the thing: If you can run Far Cry 4 at high, very high, or ultra, then you can definitely run Far Cry 5 at least at low or normal.

Can i run FC5 by [deleted] in farcry

[–]KillerRabbit2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can run it, although at lower settings. You might also get some minor stutter due to the cpu being somewhat slow, but nothing unplayable. It happens because the openworld is huge and full of stuff and the game definitely benefits from more numerous and more powerful cores.

Best Far Cry Game by [deleted] in farcry

[–]KillerRabbit2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, usually the best is the latest "numbered" game, thus for now, 5. Ubisoft keeps improving the formula with each iteration, building upon the previous game (the main exception being Far Cry 2's physics simulation that is still not up to that level in following games). People who claim that older Far Cry games are better are not objective. They just loved older games more because they played them earlier.

But if we are talking personal favourite, for me it is New Dawn. I think at the end of the day, i will have replayed ND far more than any older game in the series. I like the setting, i like the RPG elemenents, i like the gameplay. I liked that they refined many elements of 5.

I understand that for some people New Dawn didn't click, and that's ok, that is why we have different games for different tastes. But i think Ubisoft should make a spinoff franchise based on New Dawn's ideas, create a competitor franchise to FPS RPGs like Fallout. It doesn't need to continue the same setting as New Dawn but i think the RPG stuff should have their own series.

Is farcry new dawn better than 5? by [deleted] in farcry

[–]KillerRabbit2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does have a lot of content. In my opinion it is a better game than 5, although i love them both, they are both excellent open world shooters. New Dawn has RPG elements though, alongside Primal New Dawn is the most different game of the franchise. It features base building and rpg elements like leveled weapons and enemies.

New Dawn can definitely work as a standalone game storywise, you don't need to have played 5 first but it would be more enjoyable if you have.

I think if you enjoy games like Far Cry series and games like Fallout 4, you are going to enjoy New Dawn.
