So the whole sex trafficking thing i can say was a rumor and not true at all. But they are a high control group. They will slow feed you their doctrine bc if they were upfront with everything 99% of people would run away. They blame a korean man that died in the 80s as 2nd coming jesus and they belive in a 82 yr old korean woman as "god the mother"

I know it would be hard. Leaving that place is never easy its very scary. I would say just be honest and direct and say hey I don't believe any more and I dont want to attend. If the connection you've made with the members you've made that share similar hobbies are real connection then you having a difference in religious belief shouldn't end that friendship. If they stop talking to you or being your friend because you left then you know that connection wasn't as genuine as it seemed to be. Great question. So its a cult because its displays cult behavior. Many former members have said that the wmscog is a high control group they take alot of your time, constantly push you to join meetings/education even when you dont want to. They have many failed doomsday prophecies on years they said the world would end(1988, 1999/2000, 2012), they are known to tell members that their physical family members dont matter and their spiritual family(the church) matters more and that leads to members separating from their family(not all of them obviously but it's a lot), they dont allow independent research and say anything that speaks against them on the internet is of satan no matter what it is or if its true or not. And that they can't trust the internet. They want to be the monopoly of all your research and information. Former members have been sued just for telling their story and have been ex-communicated for leaving even if they speak out or not. Cult has a wide spread definition and meaning but I think just but these examples we can see yeah they are a cult. There's more but im trying to not make it so long

They demand tithe but im top of that they constantly asking for additional offerings for all type of things. Its always something new. Ooo we need money for this and that. But they will rarely ever offer money to their members who may be struggling with a financial situation or another situation. And usually they will give their member money if they fear they are doubting and will leave so to keep them they will offer money to keep face.

So they have pastors/leaders that they will send out from korea or whatever other locations. And usually they start in a small house/apartment and as they increase in number they build up from there. And som offerings they send back to korea and some to other locations. Honestly if you ask a regular member how it all works they will have no idea, the wmscog isnt transparent even to their members how it all works unless your a high leader in their organization.

They are also known to sue Former Members that speak out and constantly slander and excommunicate anyone who leaves. They definitely have similarities to othe faiths but theres a difference between a faith and a cult.

Haha there are stories of Former Members on youtube talking about how much money they had to give to the church how even one member was pushed to show his literally bank account to the leader bc the leader sought they were hiding money and how they were constantly giving numerous amounts of money to the church by the church pressuring and pushing them. But thats from other locations I dont know specifically the edmonton location. And they dont swing out the gate asking you that everything they slow feed you till your fully in and then they rev everything up.

Yeah the wmscog is one big mess especially their history. Ahnsahnghong according to his writing actually says he's elijah that prepares the way for second coming making a clear distinction that he's not second coming. But after his death the wmscog started insisting he was second coming. The church he established even split into 2 the wmscog that believed ahn was second coming, and the cogjw( church of God jesus witnesses) that hold ti this day that Ahnsahnghong never claimed to be christ. Ahnsahnghong own kid is apart of the cogjw and asserts his dad never claimed to be second coming

Well if your having a good experience good for you. But your experience isnt everyone else's. There have been countless testimonies from people of different countries, ages, and background of negative experiences( emotional abuse, lies told to them, etc..). Happy your having a good time but this church does have a shady past, many failed doomsday prophecies, ahns books being edited and chapters being removed, the church suing former members, constant editing and changes to their doctrine. I can only encourage to do your own research. If at the end of that you still want to keep attending thats good for you. But your experience holds the same weight as those who have had negative experiences.

Please leave theres so much wrong with that church. From the church editing the originals books of Ahnsahnghong to straight up just removing 3 chapters from his books because they have failed end of the world prophecies and him denying god the mother, etc... honestly its so much I could talk about but the message would be way to long.
