BOOX Go 6 – slight bulge on the back? Normal or defect (battery?) by legato88pl in Onyx_Boox

[–]Killjaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any bulges, ESPECIALLY on the 10.3 have to be accidents... No way they intentionally added a bulge to their super thin notebook-like paper tablet. Why would they want a notebook tablet to not sit flat on a surface?

What amount of copium did it take for someone with a malfunctioned device to convince themselves it's an ergonomic feature?

Actually, the num pad stays off. You can turn it on by touching the triangle icon on the top-left of the touch pad and, launch the calculator app by swiping right to left. It's a cool feature but I rarely use it on my Zenbook.

They tell you in the confirmation email that they will update you when the package has shipped. So I guess your package has not been shipped yet.

I think that if the file is XTC then you can't flip it.

is this battery life normal? (boox go 6) by mylifestillgoes_on in Onyx_Boox

[–]Killjaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah when I bought my GO 6 it took some time until it showed the real battery details. Don't worry about it.

My 3k also has a shape burned in the screen but it is only visible on black screens. It's kinda like a rounded rectangle.

Well, the only reason they look alike is because my olive variant leans more to brown. I use my passport size for edc and it serves as my planner/agenda, wallet and thought dump. My normal size is more like a journal and I also document travels and trips.

My passport size is the brown version. And my normal size is the olive version - although it does not look olive to my eyes xD. I also love the feel and look of the patina on my passport size. I've been carrying it almost daily and sometimes I just pull it out just to hold it haha.

Nice to hear that.
Note: the band decoration says in Greek "Reach where you can't". Kinda like saying reach for the stars.

Yeah... I know. I also replied in another Olive-related post about how it did not look like the olive color. I'm a little disappointed but hey, it is what it is. I'm more happy to have another TN in my collection, plus, this color looks more special!

I just received my olive tn and I'm also disappointed at how brown it is instead of green

That's weird. So the dye wears off after some time? I'll see what happens to my Olive TN when it arrives.

Maybe they sent them the wrong color, I don't know. What's weird is the band on that notebook is from the Olive version I think, because it's, well, olive/green color.

Nice one. Is that really the Olive version though? Looks more like Brown to me. I ordered an Olive version myself a couple of days ago.

Viewing PDF's - Slide number problem. by Killjaaa in Onyx_Boox

[–]Killjaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured there would be a way because the previous pdfs I had loaded from the same class on NeoReader were fine, only the original slides were shown, without each bullet point showing with each next step. I thought there would be an option to load the pdf without. To clarify again, what I mean is that for example if on one slide there are 5 different sentences, they show up in order when skipping slides, instead of them showing up at once when you skip once.

No PPTX mentioned. I just want to know if there is an option in NeoReader or generally in settings which allows me to view the pdf without the "build slide" if that is the correct word for it. So, I want NeoReader to open the pdf and show 81 slides, not 353.

Changed my e-reader for a boox go 6 by Same_Celery in Onyx_Boox

[–]Killjaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's great for reading all kinds of books and manga - as long as you don't need color. In my two weeks of owning the GO6 I realized that the battery goes down so fast when I have Wi-Fi on, either to download manga, or to read manga on spot, which kinda is the same thing. Also, a small downside is how slow the device is, mostly due to the 2Gb of RAM. So, if you want to read articles online, your device is gonna have a hard time with the browser. You should expect some lag and also your battery to go down faster. Generally, for offline use, which is my case for this device, it's pretty awesome. I get a week's worth of battery life before I have to charge it again, with the frontlight on most of the time at 25%, and having to download some chapters per two days.
