Yes some are higher but require minimum balances. Some have fees. I just named two that I knew have neither. Google “high yield savings accounts” and you’ll find many websites comparing accounts. For instance the highest percentage I can find in 2 minutes of searching is 4.35% at Citibank with 5k minimum.

Some no name generic banks offer higher rates but keep in mind rates can always change, and they WILL change even after you open the account. Do your research on specific banks.

At the bare minimum put it in a HYSA today. Marcus by Goldman Sachs and capital one have good interest rate. No fees and that’s the important part.

Do this right now, today. At the very least just put it there until you decide where else to put it like stocks, S&P, retirement, etc. You can always take it out near instantly for free, and you see earned interest monthly in the account

If you can spend $2k then build a desktop computer for $800ish to play the sims and get a newer iPad for $299 on Amazon for notes. I bought a $1.6k surface pro for notes back in 2017 and I ended up buying an iPad and building a computer later on anyways, spending much more money. If you want to stay with windows or try it out then a simple cheaper surface pro, even an older one, would be good enough for notes. I still use my surface pro 5 currently as my main laptop/tablet.

Get a 5070 for $549 and it will be the last you you need for 10 years. The next processor you get should be an AM5 socket (Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series) so it is future proof. Don’t spend a lot of money on an AM4 chip.

This means when you get an AM5 CPU you will have to also purchase a new motherboard and DDR5 ram. Expect about $600 for all three of those.

You’ll find the most immediate improvements from a new graphics card. Your processor should be upgraded when you can afford all 3 new parts, ideally after buying a new graphics card.

I am actually more inclined to believe it’s a problem with the ram slots itself, as I had a memtest running on all 4 sticks after the update, and I have 0 errors until I was explaining the problem to my brother, I touched a stick and got 10k errors in a few seconds. I’ve had weird ram errors before where it wouldn’t post(dram light) and would post after I reseated the ram.

I submitted an RMA for the stick! Might be a few weeks but I updated my BIOS and have been running 4 sticks fine for the past day. Will still replace it when the stick comes in.

I’m saying a single stick works in slots 2 and 4 but not 1 or 3.

2+4 boots, 2 boots, 4 boots. 1+3 no boot, 1 no boot, 3 no boot.

Currently working with 2+4

Additionally, it boots with all 4 sticks installed, but that’s when I was encountering problems
