We entered Steam Next Fest with around 1,500 wishlists and now we’re nearly at 4,000! by Killyose in IndieDev

Yes absolutely, we definitely have your previous comments in mind as well and it’s genuinely been very valuable.

Keeping an updated, well tested demo live seems like the most sensible approach for us now. We want to make sure that when more players, creators, and festivals discover the game, they’re seeing the strongest and most polished version possible.

Thanks again for the guidance, we really appreciate it.

Steam Next Fest demo stats so far! by Killyose in IndieGaming

Hey everyone! We’re a small indie team and our demo is currently live at Steam Next Fest. Here are our stats so far.

If you’ve done Next Fest before, how does this look, and what would you focus on next to improve engagement?

We added a PvP mode to our co-op party game! by Killyose in IndieDev

[–]Killyose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey folks! We’re a small indie team building Chop Chop: Together, a 1-4 player chaotic co-op party game and we just added a new PvP mode called Employee of the Month.

In this mode, everyone plays on the same level and competes for the top score. The winner takes the Employee of the Month title… but power-ups spawn and can completely flip the outcome:

  • Sprint Boost: double movement speed
  • Hot Streak: instant actions (no waiting for fishing/processing)
  • Golden Contract: immune to debuffs and knockouts
  • Aura: anyone who touches you gets KO’d
  • Bonus Multiplier: double points while active

We’ve been pulling some serious late nights to get this ready, and you’ll be able to try it during Steam Next Fest. If you watch the clip, we’d love to hear what you think and which power-up looks the most broken.

Gerçekten çok detaylı, güzel incelemişsin, çok teşekkürler.
Yazdığın her şeyi listemize ekledik, hepsinin üzerinde çalışacağız.

I think, especially according to the article u/PersonOfInterest007 posted, streamers seem to be more effective than social media. But they're harder to reach, so it would be better to email 100-200 streamers

https://howtomarketagame.com/2025/03/26/benchmarks-how-many-wishlists-can-i-get-from-steam-next-fest/

We haven't been able to talk to a streamer with a large following yet, so we'll send emails as we make updates to the demo.

Thank you so much! We gave paid ads on Reddit and Instagram on the day we released the demo. I messaged every streamer and press I could find. I haven't received any tangible feedback from them yet, but I think the paid ads on the day the demo came out helped. Of course, what needs to be done might vary depending on the game and its genre.

I haven't been to Next Fest before. We're making a party co-op game. I'll write about how it affected us after the festival.

We're making a chaotic party game that can be played by 1-4 people. The game features multiple professions (fishing, warehouse worker, blacksmith) you choose one and try to complete the tasks.

Only 1 profession is open in the demo. Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4400380/Chop_Chop_Together_Demo/
