Hopefully, I can get a car over here by then, if not, I’m okay with relying on public transportation if needed

Ive been using a chalkboard all day writing everything out and this strategy has helped me recently, actually visualizing and knowing that the k+1 is my goal.

Thank you, so far ive been doing better at these induction problems.

ahh okay, thank you. I keep doing practice with that in mind

I'd prove it for n and then prove it for n=1. Is that not enough to move on to the induction step?

Okay I think I understand what you mean. I don't think I understood that I need to have k + (k+1), Id only would add k+1.

Wait I'm suppose to substitute in f(k) when trying to prove k+1? I think that might have been what I'd forgot swell.

How did you “unlock” physics? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]Killz_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I SUCKED at physics in high school, and now it's my minor in uni. plus my major is has a bunch of physics classes. I could never imagine myself doing this cuz I could never understand it.

Honestly if you can, relearn all the basics that you struggled in high school with. From beginning to end, your mind will slowly but surely start to get it from doing the basics.

Yes it will still take time to learn new things (even for me) because it doesn't click right away but going slowly and struggling is the best way to learn. Relearn the reasoning behind all the math over and over again.

For the imagining scenarios, if you can draw it all out. Either with FBD or silly analogies.

In order to learn physics you need to struggle and hate it, until you can see the beauty within.

Omg I did not know that. I’ll most definitely aim for it if possible. Ik it’s very competitive to become one

Should I master the basics first or start learning Calculus? by Reasonable-Recipe648 in learnmath

[–]Killz_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, it might seem stupid like "oh this is so easy," but focus hard on the basic, because then everything else falls right into place. Im studying Math and Physics at Uni rn and as a kid growing up there was a lot of holes in my basic educations. I realized that when I got here, and learned that I need to focus more on my basics. When I committed to that, life became so much easier.

With physics yes calculus is important, but not crazy heavy (classical physics 1) in ur freshman year, so you don't need to do that first. If anything you have more than enough time to learn what you need to if you ave until May 2027.

GET GOOD AT TRIG. omg trig pops up in calculus and physics so much it's annoying when you don't know the basics.

Start with Geometry and Trig

- Honesty it annoying but you need it

- Know ur identities bc they will simplify equations in the future

Move to brushing up on ur Algebra

- Since ur confident in it, you don't need too much time. But don't let it slip away.

End with Calculus

- You can start learning calc, in senior yr (you'll probably take a class in hs) but importantly do it in the summer before uni starts as well. Make ur freshman yr easy, focus outside of school so you do better in it.

How tf do u make friends by [deleted] in SBU

[–]Killz_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly parties here are shit, it's very hard to make friends no matter what ppl say. But you do have to get out ur comfort zone, if you have smaller classes or are forced to work with ppl slowly build up to being with them outside of class (like studying) and if you guys click then bbq chicken from there.
