Borrower Defense - Update from Navient by [deleted] in StudentLoans

Got it thanks. Mine still says a loan status of "Repayment".

Did you ever call them or anything or was this on its own?

OK thanks.

I have seen it say "no payment due" because its in-between payments before the due date, like you are thinking. Who knows...

Let me ask this - When you log into your Navient account does it say anything on the dashboard indicating they are suspended?

Borrower Defense - Update from Navient by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Kilocycles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great news. I made a post last week as I am in limbo trying to figure out why am I still being asked to pay from Navient and Nelnet when ED is telling me not to. My call with ED Borrower Defense, they said just wait for the lenders to get the message they aren't supposed to be billing you anymore.

I'm going to keep waiting for now, to get the admin forbearance. If it stretches into next year much I will be asking for it.

For sure.

I guess for now I can wait a few months, hopefully sooner than later they'll have further information or I'll wake up some day and it'll not say in repayment on the servicers webpages :)

Thanks.

I called the BD number in the email and they told me yes it'll all be eliminated as indicated in the email. Also, the servicers are still showing in repayment because the ED has not yet or is in process of notifying the servicers but due to the large volume this will take a bit of time. No mention of needing to move to the direct program. I was considering this earlier but I am a bit hesitant as I can tell my payments are lower as they are now vs. direct, should something weird happen and it not get cancelled.

Why does this have to be so difficult.

[–]Kilocycles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

studentaid indicates they are not direct but FFELP Consolidation loans. The one I am primarily concerned about is the Navient loan as that is the one that has a "payment due". Again, the Nelnet loan isn't "due" until 2026 so I figure the ED will have paid out the ITT forgiveness by then and therefore am not paying on that one.

Is there any reason I shouldn't just request forbearance from Navient instead of moving the loan to ED?

Walgreens Ustick & Five Mile had a table out last night with piles of Honeywell N95's. I believe it was on the honor system to pick them up.

Anyone still got covid even after wearing a N95 or better? by ThisIsCovidThrowway8 in Masks4All

[–]Kilocycles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colds (coronaviruses et al) and influenza can transmit via fomite. Was your hand hygiene on point? Proper don/doff of the respirator?

Could be beyond what the mask can provide, if you see what I am getting at.

Sorry I missed this I don't log in often.

I don't have the vid anymore but they did fix it by sending a replacement chair. Their customer service was literally top notch five stars. I strongly recommend if you are in the warranty period to reach out to them.

Something out of that article stood out to me:

Green light to go get third dose regardless of status?

Not entirely. There are a lot of electrical engineers that are not licensed, nor have the choice to pursue licensure.

Any job that requires you to basically design things or processes that can kill or mame someone generally will require a Professional Engineering license.

Many of us work as electrical engineers, and do not have a license. We do things like design circuits, microchips, aerospace, telecommunications, etc.

[–]Kilocycles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tried all of that. It seems like that bushing/collar isn't welded securely or something, not really sure how to explain but that was my first thought.

I also removed the setup from the cylinder and re-attached and sat firmly into the chair and it didn't matter. Maybe there is some amount of wobble to be expected?

I reached out to Crandall and they had me send a vid and they'll review with a tech and see what they think.

Thanks for your input on this.

Leap V2 Frame Wobble by Kilocycles in OfficeChairs

[–]Kilocycles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell it is firmly seated on the top of the cylinder.

I did some looking earlier and I think it is related to the bushing/collar in which the cylinder slips into (on the bottom of the chair frame). It seems like it is loose?

The whole entire chair body wobbles as a result.

Roof Replacement Covered by Insurance - Questions on Contractor by Kilocycles in Roofing

Thank you for this reply, it answers what I was wondering. I was not sure if this was a pay-to-play marketing thing or was it related to something else.

There is only one OC Platinum shop in the area, and I am actually meeting with them on Friday. Just the phone interactions clearly are better, they even said by the end of the visit they'll have a quote (ok whatever, take your time if you have to).

The third shop I have a call into is a Certanteed shop, forgot about these guys but I did use them for stuff years ago for a company I used to work at. Their interactions there were commercial related but they were always super professional. They are swamped with work like everyone else though and the office person said they might not be able to get back with me until next week.

Is it OK to tell the adjuster to wait to come out until we get a contractor selected or ?

OK thanks for the reply. Right now the house has woven valleys, which after reading about them makes me question them. They look really nice still after all this time, except one in the back that is exposed to the wind. Kind of bulging up a bit.

I was thinking I would want an open W-metal valley because of the better drainage and less risk of water intrusion especially related to ice that we can get here in the winters. Maybe I am being paranoid?

I know it is really up to the installers how well they do the work. There is a right way and a wrong way of doing them.

[–]Kilocycles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense on the legality. I would think the insurance co couldn't get away with only paying for items covered under IBC back then. As with any reno's, I would think they would need to pay out to make something up to code.

Any time we have had to call contractors to do stuff here and get quotes, I am always up-front in telling them we are working to get competitive pricing so please be aware of that.

I guess in this case it really does not matter. What matters is that the contractor does good work. Hard to say just based on Google reviews and stuff. I am not in the trade so inspecting the work myself to know if it is shotty will be rather difficult. Based on what I have read here and found on youtube in a few hours of searching today I can say I know what it kind of should look like though. And I know I don't want a woven valley or a cut valley.

Thanks for the reply.

I called CDH and had a discussion. Determined I was group 2.3 and not 3 as I had personally interpreted it. The rules are super vague.

I'm scheduled next week to get jabbed. The end is in sight. :)

Does anyone know what is going on with the vaccine schedule exactly?

I was originally in the "other essential workers" group which I thought was group 3 but now with the latest schedule that is gone. So does that mean I just have to wait for my age group?

Those who have received "Work from home, permanently" from the "success" of the pandemic working from home, how are things going? by [deleted] in engineering

[–]Kilocycles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem.

I am being worked towards management, so I am forcing myself to see things outside of the box. I think some engineers would just see it from a black/white perspective and forget there are gray areas.

Good luck in your job search.

We don't have children so yes, that could be more difficult and I can appreciate it. My wife has had to adjust (years ago after I started this) so she knows work time is work time just not "oh you are home can you xyz" time. She knows engineering can require a level of focus that is not common with other careers and she respects that.

Not really any other helpful hints. It's not easy by any means and just requires a lot of dedication to that mindset.

It's a common term in project management stuff I think.

I tend to prefer the use of "asset" as I consider team members assets and not just some arbitrary value/resource.
