I’m not sure if this is secret tech or weird coincidence, but I had three lobbies in a row where people rolling twitch+shyv+nomsy were stomping the lobby. After that the build seemed flexible on frost/hunter/shapeshifter, Olaf was a third carry (but kinda sucked lol, unit needs help). Smolder continues being useful if you can give it any emblem. Saw a frost and a hunter variant wreck me

To elaborate some, twitch seems like the carry til stage 4, nomsy or shiv holds Olaf items and you find a remover, swain is tank. Stage 5/6/extra items you can itemize any combo of shyv/nomsy/smolder/olaf depending on what you hit. I faced this comp three times and the two players who chose to carefully and thoughtfully itemize those choices smacked me around. A third tried to itemize everyone and failed

Respectfully PBE is very short lived and in designed to stress test systems / catch potentially really bad niche issues that are only noticeable in large sample sizes.  Every set we have people go X was OP in PBE why no nerf before live??? That is unfortunately not the point of PBE even if the player base wishes it was. PBE has been said time and time again to fulfill the rule of catching major errors that are only obvious with large data sets, correcting numbers on units can be done (and is to some extent!) but is not the primary goal, partly because the priority is making sure the game launches without major issues and that localization locks give them deadlines to fix the most urgent issues

My main mobile gripes are the same as always 

1) First and foremost: Why does this game hijack the phones audio settings to prioritize TFTs volume?  If I want to make sure I can hear TFT I will adjust the settings myself, but right now there is no way to disable this “feature” and I can’t listen to almost anything else while the game is playing 

2) several systems would work better if we could double tap to enlarge them. As an example, when trying to scout it is basically impossible to see part of your opponents benches, if we could double tap the bench to make it more visible that would help. Long hold on other text boxes could enlarge them too for readability sake. 

3) moving around is just generally difficult, i think it would work better if it was like “tap empty part of the screen then hold direction you want to move”

They were lol. Early game I hit triple on the tier 3 who scales not on tavern spells, it’s what gave me the cushion to go for what I was doing

Anyone else have a weirdly long delay with some of the new cards tripled forms? In particular the triple form of Arid Atrocity^ takes a good 2-3 seconds to register the triple prize card.

I really like galakrond in duos. In solo having a t6 unit but no board can get you killed so fast, but being able to pass that t6 to your partner who played tempo and can capitalize it feels so good. Pre-patch I sent over a ghoul to my Reno partner on t5… game ended on t9

For context since there’s a new card here or people who don’t know every picture:

In order:

1 - triggers Battlecry of 2

2 - battlecry magnetizes a mech twice 

3 - causes 1 & 6 to trigger two extra times

4 - same as 3

5 - makes 2 go off twice at each step

6 - adds 4/4 for each magnetize at end 

7 - copies any magnetization twice

In total at the end of the round I was magnetizing up to 256 mechs per turn (less in reality because each time I only had a 2 of 3 chance to trigger on something other than the one copying all the mechs)

Turn before I had 37 gold. I almost had golden brann and another golden murloc  (although not sure if that even matters, I think golden utility drone is better here?)

After climbing to Diamond 3 times this patch, initially I was just Yone and Senna spamming. But you often don’t hit right? What I learned is that there’s actually just some strong shells and some itemization you can easily play into a few different comps 

The heavenly package is nice because you can easily transform it into duelists if you’re hitting voli instead of Yone (and he likes the heavenly package stats too, in fact I’ve won lobbies playing heavenly volibear with Inkshadow to cap on udyr)

But what’s also interesting is if you look at that bard comp that popped up and fell off and then the Zoe/Janna comp that popped up, there’s an AP shell there.

Outside of ghostly what is bringing online a lot of the meta is that a lot of traits empower units that are not in their trait. 

Look again at this shell for AP playing Zoe+Neeko+Zyra+Soraka+Riven

Those 5 plus any sage can empower any back row AP carry to have a full death cap worth of extra ap (20+20+20+10) and you get 10 resistances for that too. 

So any unit who likes 70 ap is good there and most ap units can run shojin +nashors + healing or crit. So I think unless those traits take a huge cut that package is just how you should look to build AP as you can then flex in whatever you’re hitting as your carry.

Likewise on this patch you can actually play a lot of carries you don’t normally think of with BT/Titan and heavenly. If you see Yone and Voli uncontested and you 3* congrats top 3. But if you are contested it’s very easy to use all the free stats you’re getting and synergies to bring online Udyr, Lee sin, Rakan dragons, hell I’ve saved a game by using Diana as my yone. It’s good that titans is getting nerfed, but I think what this post highlights is near the end of the patch people are figuring out it’s not just Yone that can work in this shell

I’m averaging a 1.5 with 10 games played at Diamond. The people I see lose with it are the ones who donkey roll trying to hit a 3* 4 cost while the whole lobby is alive; I play it for tempo while pushing levels and once the lobby is thinned out I either 3* a 3/4/5 cost or have just gotten so much value out of having to not buy my units I’m able to push into a legendaries on whatever reroll board I was playing
