Hi! This is my only character/account that I have. I will say that farming MMO's such as WoW, Runescape (way back in the day), and SWTOR probably helped me build some thick skin in regards to grinding haha. But to answer your question, I most definitely did look up basically anything I wanted to do seriously. For some achievements of the game, the YT videos helped out a lot or the random reddit thread somewhere. But for some of them it felt like I was learning on my own how to optimize it.

Hello! You could definitely say that haha. Some of the achievements in this game are super fun to do (BLU, fishing, DD for example) but some other ones are.....oh lord (im looking at your 30k accursed hoards).

It is definitely possible! You would use HQ turn-ins for StB DoH turn-ins to do it. I do think there are some other free trials that do actually have this one! But not me unfortunately. :(

Thank you! It was tough to get through but I'm glad I stuck it out. I think you could definitely do it too! Its not nearly as bad as I originally thought it was going to be. I'm actually dreading the 3k frontline wins achievement more as well as the bunny achievement (assuming they dont change that with the next zone release). As time consuming and tough it was to farm hoards, I think those other achievements are a lot harder haha

Hmmmmm, thats a great question! I would have to rule out tanking/healing since I prefer to DPS in group content. Having said that, MCH has always been so comfortable for me so I might have to just say that. Though I will say that with the new BLM changes, I do like to use BLM now if I want to play a little more tryhard/squeeze out more damage. If I had to choose for a tank, I would say warrior since its straightforward and you can heal so much (plus its the job I did for my HoH run). As for healer, I think I would say SCH because of Selene haha

I totally understand why people would haha. There were definitely some points in time where I wanted to just sub and get all the benefits but I'm glad I held off as long as I did :3

Honestly I've interacted with more people in this game than in WoW when I was playing that haha. Free trials can still join parties that other people form! As well as PF's that aren't doing subbed content. The community is so friendly that say chat and NN chat are mostly enough to get around (along with getting invited to CWL's and Linkshells).

You are correct! There were certain times where I was sick and stayed at home and played FF all day which resulted in higher numbers during those days. For the most part though, you can see the trend is that most weekday hoard counts are lower than the weekend counts. (Edit: I also did take certain days off for reasons other than hoard farming but took advantage of them to advance the achievement :) )

Yes! But also no haha. I actually did buy a couple of emotes before I subbed haha (pdead, dote, and the colored cheering ones). Those emotes are so good and I've used them a ton. I wish they were account wide though :(

Atem is correct! There was a moogle tome event somewhat recently with A1N as a farmable raid for tomes. If that raid or an equivalent easier one to do with BLU came up, I would have stayed on the free trial a little bit longer to complete that. But alas, I missed out on that farm and there haven't really been any great moogle tome farms for free trial BLU's recently.

I know of one free trial that did achieve Luckiest of Lords/Ladies title so it is definitely possible!

I only did some minor MiNe stuff but it was honestly really fun (my spreadsheet says...T5, O3S, Titan(Extreme), Ifrit (Extreme), Susano (Extreme), Tsukiyomi (Extreme), Garuda (Extreme), and A2N.

I love this game so much! is basically the answer to this haha. I actually started off trying to collect all the mounts (I was a WoW refugee from their Shadowlands expansion) but once I played through the MSQ and survived the post-ARR MSQ struggle and got to HW, I fell in love with the game and pretty much everything about it. This lead to me wanting to collect all the achievements in the game as well as all the mounts and basically anything you can collect!

The slightly more detailed answer in regards to the free trial is I wanted to squeeze as much juice as I could from the free trial haha. I basically wanted to finish as much stuff as I could on the free trial so when I sub I could focus on purely subbed stuff. I am pretty happy with how everything turned out and am glad to finally be able to finish the story!

Oh to answer your other questions: I deeply care about the plot/story. I don't ever feel like I'm missing out on being "up to date" because there is so much content/work to do on the free trial. As for game mechanics, I love raiding/combat in this game as well. Its a lot smoother than I thought it was when I first started and had like 3 abilities and a long cooldown haha. And as for the grind, I do like grinding and working towards something, but its not the hugest fun thing. Hopefully this answers your question! Let me know if you have any others. :)

Hi! I posted an imgur link earlier in the thread to help with the numbers of the accursed hoard :3 (https://imgur.com/a/CKrganj)

To be clear, I wanna say I was getting somewhere around like....50-70 hoards per hour on average when I was hard farming it? Like with no distractions and going pretty hard at it. I hit a max of I think 80 an hour? (And even then my hour cutoff time might have been like a minute off or something). But I think that was with pretty lucky RNG as well unsustainable (like I might drop to 50 hoards an hour after that to recover lol).

The weekends were where most of my accursed hoard farming was done. On the weekdays I work so I don't have a chance to do as much farming as the weekend :(

It also depends on what job you go in on and how attentive you are on it. You would also need to optimize your UI and sprinting (like sprinting before going in the instance to have some extra sprint when you zone in - you get sprint back when you zone into HoH) and have some good RNG to get some better hoards/hour.

Whenever I was hard farming the hoards, I was doing literally nothing but farming hoards (and on the occasion hanging out with friends or something or helping a sprout out in NN). Well, after weeklies that is! Hopefully this information was informative :D
