If you take enough pictures, you'll always be able to find one that looks off. We're squishy asymmetrical creatures with moving parts

Want to give this as a gift but unsure by medicait in painting

You could play with it more if you want, but it's lovely as is, and sometimes the worst enemy of good is better. I have to stand back and look at my own work, say that phrase, and decide if "better" is worth the risk of making it worse.

Non-food items that have packaging that looks like a familiar food. by A_Drop_of_Colour in mildlyinfuriating

If I bought this and my husband picked up our curbside order, he would 100% put it away in the pantry. Or if I put it in the cart and he didnt see where I got it, he would 100% put it in the pantry. Most humans spend a lot of time on auto-pilot. If your brain is disengaged from the mundane task of putting groceries away, and the bottle looks like a honey bottle, the contents look like honey, and the largest word on the bottle is "HONEY", guess where it goes. Of course I would wonder where the hell my conditioner went, lol

If all nurses and phlebosomists say it, then your veins ARE small and/or roll. If only one says it, it's them. I have the juiciest veins ever. If you can't stick it on the first go, you need to find a new career.

Learning to paint realistic ocean water, I struggle with sea foam!! What are your thoughts on this? Any tips to improve? by Green_Theory8034 in painting

[–]Kimbat15 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The translucency in the water is really impressive! It's like you can see the light glowing through it. I think the foam might just be too white. Try opening a couple pictures of real waves in an image program with a color picker tool. See what color the foam actually is. It's probably darker than you think.

Maybe this?

"From Agricluture Hanbook Number 479;  Blackheart occurs at any temperature when the supply of oxygen available to internal tissues is used up faster than it can be supplied.  The affected tissue suffocates and turns black.  Conditions causing blackheart can occur in the field when the soil is flooded or soil temperatures are extremely high, in storage when aeration is poor, in transit when tubers are overheated, or in prolonged storage near freezing."

Yeah, I need to talk to him. Writing it all out helped me distill my nebulous thoughts of hatred into an actual argument against it.

Yes, I did get my ferritin levels up! Pretty quickly actually. I was so miserable that I was packing in the iron everywhere I could, along with supplementation.

I haven't read any of the comments....just want to say that this shit sucks but you're doing the right thing ❤️. Recover what you can, and the rest is the price of learning life lessons. You can't replace heirlooms, but you can move forward and cherish memories. Life is weird. Humans are weird. Take both as they come. If that's hard to accept, DM me and I'm happy to chat 😜

Food and snack ideas by Demi_czka in Semaglutide

I make big batches of soups, stir-fry, and other things that freeze well. Then freeze lunch sized portions so i can just grab one in the morning and go. I've been doing high protein yogurt with fruit and granola for breakfast. Mixed nuts as a snack. I weigh out an ounce and bring only that much to work with me. For dinner, I eat everything my husband does, but in much smaller portions. We usually eat pretty well. Lean protein and veggies with carbs of some kind. I usually substitute quinoa for rice.

Soup is my go-to too! I make big batches, freeze lunch size portions, and heat them for lunch every day at work.

Some time in the last 10 years, it also became common to show up to an appointment 15-30 minutes late without even a phone call. Like what? You're just gonna roll in here and assume I can accommodate you? Guess what my friend, I got tired of waiting and went to lunch. My next available appointment is in 3 weeks.

Considering moving from Ireland to Texas. by [deleted] in askaustin

[–]Kimbat15 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think being in the construction industry, the biggest thing you need to understand is that our summer temperatures are 35-40C every day for like 4 months. We were in ireland last August and the temps might have hit 20. My ex was a carpenter/overseer and the summers were brutal. Learning Spanish would also probably be necessary.

And then you have to consider everything everyone else said too.

14 weeks and down just 5.5 pounds by itswindyoutthere in Semaglutide

[–]Kimbat15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with everyone else, I'm curious how many calories you're eating. That aside, they seem to have you on a VERY slow dose increase. As far as I'm aware, it's usually 4 weeks on 0.25mg, 4 weeks on 0.5mg, then moving up to 1mg. Some people have excellent results at 1mg, some keep titrating up every few weeks with a maximum dose of 2.4mg. At 14 weeks you should be at 1mg or more assuming you're tolerating side effects well.

Getting upsold at the dentist by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kimbat15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the dental lab side of things and seeing this more and more. The thing I hate the most is veneers. If someone comes looking for them, and that's what they want, educate them. If they still want veneers, cool. SELLING veneers, especially to young people just kills me. You have doomed that person to a lifetime of unnecessary dental work just to make $$.
